Ditto, I know that we're bending the rules and all but I think that crafting a sword in this should still at least take a solid day or two, we aren't making bird houses out of wood. Pumping out a sword in a few hours is a sure fire way of shoddy quality and not to mention that given we are in an academy, I'd assume that we'd still have classes of some sort or some other form of instructions plus the fact that we're all technically still kids, we can't hammer away at something for hours on end even if we have endless passion, we'd get tired or bored and have to take a decent number of breaks.
Oh, yeah, should have addressed this as well. Sorry for the possible double post. I indeed assume that there should be classes were they learn all kind of processes and lore about sword making and smiting (perhaps even more general subjects to a lesser degree), even if we aren't RPing them (for obvious reasons), otherwise the place shouldn't call itself an academy, but only a very loosely grouped workshop. And indeed, no matter how passionate one is, the body will always wins sooner or later. Anyone who ever tried to do any kind of hand work knows how taxing that is. It's a good effort in the end (most of the time) but tiresome nonetheless. When you have to do something as hard as smiting, which involves heat, noxious fumes, heavy lifting and hammering as well as mental effort to always keep things under control, it breaks the willing suspension of disbelief very easily to see someone go at it like a robot.
