I wouldn't do it indiscriminately, of course. I did read the OP, though I should read again to make sure I understand it well. And the level of trickery wouldn't be too dangerous, at least not in the eyes of a god. It would be something along the lines of "Oh, you use those plants to make medicine? Here, let me create a variation of it that looks similar but also makes you hallucinate."
