She realizes that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, as did her siblings. This of course plays into the obligation to be kind to those less fortunate, to try to give something back.

Being raised as high-born, Shar was held to a higher standard. She must act better, be wiser, lead, and kepe the peace. So she is selective about who she favors. If a person stands highly in her estimation. If they truly disappoint her, or break her trust or faith, they are likely never to regain it.

Respect is one of her highest ideals, but more than that is her Noble Obligation. She  is obligated, as she believes, to protect the people, and to take care of them. They are all her charges, and realistically, she knows she can't take care of every person individually, she strives to do what she can. She champions their causes as best she can, and tries to ward off danger and evil.

During her youth, Shar advocated on behalf of some of the workers within Waterdeep. There were no particularly pivotal events. Later Shar was accepted to train with one of the knightly orders.
