Reading over a bit of the IC, I can't see how Iona could be considered abrasive in any way. Apart from Princess, who kind of asked for it with her bad girl antics, Iona hasn't treated anyone else in an unkind way. Just because she's on the upper echelons of power doesn't mean that she has to be a conceited jerk.
