[center][color=ed1c24]France is once again in turmoil as the years creep by since the French Revolution. There is unrest among the common people and the peasants, while the rich still live in luxury. Le Ancien Régime seems to have been reinstated by the people. Something must be done.
The people choose to revolt once again. Barricades fill the streets, and gunfire echoes through the towns. 
The rebellion is a failure. Within two days, hundreds are dead and nothing is won. 
But give us another five years. Now it is 1837, a new year, and a new chance to fight for liberty. This time, we will succeed... or will we?

This is a kinda-sorta Les Mis RP. You definitely don't have to have read the book/seen the musical to join, but some background reading on the French Revolution and the June Rebellion might help you to understand what's going on. I'm not very good at summarizing. 
Keep in mind that this is the 1830s. Gun technology is still in its infancy, and most weapons are not terribly accurate. Things we take for granted like frequent bathing and changes of clothes are only for the rich. And, most importantly, SCENE GIRLS DO NOT EXIST. Please mind what images you use to represent your characters. If you can't find anything, remember that descriptions are an option. 

I expect at least one well developed paragraph per post, although you may feel free to do more than that. 

Remember that these are dangerous times. Aside from just the perils of rebellion, the streets are riddled with disease and crime is rampant. Your character may indeed die. If this should occur, feel free to make another and jump back in.
