Everyone's only allowed one free character when they start. More characters can be made later after you've amassed the necessary CP or Creative Points (points earned whenever you make a post IC). A character costs 5 CP to make, so you'll probably get to make one real quick. But, for now, you'll have to just choose one to play and let the other sit in the back burner.
