Midterms are like Finals only they show up in the middle of the semester. It's sort of like a pre-test before the Final to make sure you're paying attention.

And I'm just going to hop onto this Lauren interaction train by saying I'm pretty sure Robert wouldn't understand half of what she says. Questions he would probably ask include: "What does fuck mean?" and "Wasted? Why would I want to throw out this apple juice? Speaking of which, why's there so much foam on top?"
