It's an easy crop that seems to flourish just about anywhere, though it's uncommon in the wild. The plant is easily maintained as a crop due to it's nature to clone itself, meaning the plants never spread widely but will self-sustain themselves in small areas year-round. It produces no edibles, and has wide, blue and green leaves that are firm and leathery. The plant protects itself by coating the leaves in an oily, bitter substance that must be washed off before drying the leaves. A by product of this mechanism however is the absorption of chemicals that have a nicotine like affect on humans. The leaf of the plant becomes brittle once dried, and crumbles into large flakes similar to tobacco, or typical fish flakes. From there it can be smoked and the natural chemical ingested into the blood stream. The smoke is noted to have a bitter stench with underlying tones of mint.

[i]Nicotrite[/i] is consistent with the plants, and is shown to help anxiety and calm nerves. Unfortunately the chemical is about as addictive as nicotine, but appears that it does not cause any known long-term side affects or any coloration of the teeth. Short term side effects include shortness of breath, coughing, dizziness, and nausea when overused.

While the thorn appears to be the most dangerous part of the plant, all of its flat surfaces are razor sharp. In addition to water, the plant flourishes on a tiny amount of blood from animals that may come in contact with it. Most animals don't even realize they've been cut by the parasitic plant's fine blades. The bulb on the top of the plant gets bigger as it absorbs more blood, assisting with the growth process. The plant reproduces by detonating its thorn and releasing spores, expiring shortly afterward.

Because of the Venus Thorn's odd dietary requirements, the plant is difficult to grow in captivity. It is usually planted out in the wild where it can come in contact with animals naturally.

Venus Thorn is best known for the burning sensation the bulb causes when people touch it, caused by a mild poison. Despite the dangers, people have been grinding the bulb into a spice and deluding the plant with other ingredients. Depending on the mixture, Venus Thorn can be as hot as a chili or more severe than a ghost pepper. However the “heat” seldom lasts longer than a few seconds.

Undiluted Venus Thorn has its uses as a self defense weapon. The powerful burning sensation and short burn time makes for an effective self defense weapon that doesn't cause lasting harm to its victims.[/indent][/hider][/indent][/indent]

Most of it's body mass is pure muscle and its talon like claws grant it the ability to leap and latch onto the trees around the forest. The hair on their tail and back can be used to identify the males from the females with the former having a longer, thicker mane.[/indent][/hider]

Of course the plant life on Awilix is nothing like that on Earth and studying the local flora is a challenge even for far more experienced experts. She does not hold any grand ambitions of becoming a great scientist and is completely content just kicking back with a book in her hands while the others do all the hard work. In the scouting party, she is usually the one to crack the best jokes and encourage others to not overwork themselves.

Anna's Lunos is Insect Attraction - it does pretty much what it says. When activated, her body releases a scent which is irresistible to most types of insects, causing them to flock to her. The scent lingers for two to eight hours depending on the environmental conditions and Anna's condition. As a side note, she handles both Lenna's and Holla's Emails, so she's moving up. right?

Memory player is Rose's lunos ability. She can close her eyes and relive her life in perfect clarity. Every sensation from sight to smell. Well, parts of her life. If a memory is too old, her senses aren't as greatly stimulated. Nondescript face, with all of the plain features attached, he's nothing extraordinary to look at. In fact, he's not really weird either. He also happens to be one of the most brilliant minds to have awoken on Awilix, or at least in it's atmosphere. He's an outstanding chemist who's dabbled in thermodynamics and astrophysics. So, it's no wonder he's the acting director of what science departments do exist on the city of landing. 

Aramand's Lunos is Polaroid, in short he has the power to create a Polaroid picture of whatever he's looking at. Unfortunately for him, if his eyes are the lens, that means his mouth is the ejector. Due to the rapid nature of his ability, his eyes will merely flash a bright gold as he activates his Lunos.

Borr's Analytic View ability lets him look at an object and locate structural weaknesses, find faults in wires, and tell if a woman is pregnant or fat. He is the rock of the group, always willing to pick up the slack of others with not so much as a peep. He greatly values teamwork and sees the team as a sort of family. He speaks the least out of the group and is always the peacemaker when any conflict arises.

Joseph's Lunos is Sticky Sweat - when activated, his sweat glands secrete a glue-like substance which allows him to easily latch onto any surface. Great for climbing! His Lunos is Binding, an ability to connect another person's body part to another object in the world through the use of touch. This ability allows him to create his own, invisible, set of handcuffs or connect a person to another earthy object. Fáng's Lunos is the ability to turn his tattoos into realistic creatures of dangerous proportions. His favourite design is the dragon that wraps around the back of his head and extends down to his lower torso, a tattoo that is able to turn into a 15 foot beast. She dressed as sharp as she glares, with icy blue eyes that her vibrant blonde locks couldn't soften. She's calm and calculating, but is prone to irritation, especially when her plans go awry. She prides herself on being a meticulous planner, knowing what goes where, and even how long it should take to do it. She values results, calculated numbers, and is comforted by the order of the world. She prefers crisp reports over ambiguity, statistics over guess, results over fabrications. However, she is honest, and clear in what she wants, or expects of you. She doesn't leave things with much mystery.

Avaline's literary imprinting allows her to write on any surface without ever touching a pen. She can simply will the words into existence but she can only erase that which she has created. She cant write in air too, however, since that's not a solid, permanent surface, if left alone it will evaporate. She can choose a variety of flavors, though she usually goes with an ink look. Her words can be erased and covered by normal means one would otherwise take to remove words and letting, with little difficulty. Her words typically manifest with the consistency of a light coat of paint, not too strong, but not so weak as to simply wash away. However, imprinting on a document like paper, it has the consistency of ink. He came to Awilix with the hopes of becoming a renowned hero or explorer and that idea pushes him forward in everything he does. Always eager to use his Lunos and work in the field, leaving the paperwork and planning to the others. Fastest talker, eater and walker as well as most likely to be daydreaming out of all the members of the party.

Mark's Lunos is Sharpshooter - when activated, his eyes are able to focus and enhance objects far away, acting similarly like a sniper's scope. Also similarly to a sniper's scope, he loses his peripheral vision and is left with a really narrow fiel of view.[/indent][/hider]
