As with every military formation you're being stripped of self, part of a regiment, a uniform formation, even the Colonel is a Tallarn Guardsmen without his headscarf and so on. So you'll follow Cadian customs, exercises, and so on until otherwise.

Things like their own language though is fine, but you'll still need to use Cadian battle-cant. Even the Hirisit.
