As in androids? No. 
The most you will get is a artificial dog with an animal instinct program or a security bot with a protect and serve program, but these beings cannot think on their own, make decisions, or communicate beyond giving pre selected commands.

Ehhhh......... There's [i]possibly[/i] ancient artifacts somewhere. At this point in time the answer is no to other, higher thinking lifeforms.

I mostly wanna set up the current world and make sure things are going smoothly before we expand into other territories, if it goes that route. That will vary depending on the eventual outcomes.
