She learned how to fit into society up to a minimum level by then (ie. speaking, learning about how schools work, etc)! And it wouldn't make sense if she just jumped up the years without having the mindset of a second/third year huntress would. She's noticeably older than others but her mind is very primitive due to her background of being raised by a really weird guy.

And yes, I kind of treated Beacon as a college rather than high school. And colleges can have very old first years from what I know, even if it's not too common to see xD
