Name: Merrodach Lamalea Balthi-shur
Age: 45
Appearance: "I am Murdoch, the heart-breaker~"
Personality: A laid-back magus that was for the most part not ambitious and pretty much impossible to anger, and despite used to hold the position of one of the first-class instructor of the department of Archaeology in the Clock Tower, he stepped down from it not long afterwards and preferred his current life as a freelancer magus. Not too terribly fond of his bloodline, but he also disliked the Magus Association's method and brand of thaumaturgy. For the most part he's content with doing his own thing, doing research on his own and occasionally interacting with his former colleagues. However, when push comes to shove, he is a very capable magus, showing his name's worth for his qualifications. While he viewed himself as a ladykiller gentleman, it couldn’t be further than the truth, really. Despite having the rugged look and the (forced) suave attitude, most of the time he would crumble almost immediately if he was forced into a non-professional situation with a woman. He's also quite a complainer on top of that, and quite vocal about it too. It tend to annoy people around him, but for the most part it's not something he cared too much about.
Abilities:

Structural Grasp Magecraft: Murdoch is capable of analyzing the structure and design of objects as if he's viewing a blueprint. Furthermore, he had finetuned this ability so he can read some of the history of the object too, prioritizing anything that might leave a magical trace. The detail that he can see utilizing this magecraft is actually his main claim of fame.
Reinforcement: Utilizing magecraft to empower an object. With more units of magical energy spent, capable of altering the structure of an object. A simple magecraft that Murdoch often utilized due to its ease of use and versatility.
Nameless Spear: A blueprint of an ancient weapon that has been passed through generations. Despite the ambiguity of the Balti-shur's familial line, they are still capable of utilizing the blueprint as if they're a tradition holder. The original weapon was an invincible, monster-slaying wooden spear, but Murdoch was only capable of utilizing the memorized blueprint to alter objects with similar basic structure (like wooden sticks) using Reinforcement into lesser spears with similar, but degraded quality (very hard to break, naturally very effective against monsters). Each spears created are capable of magical binding using wind magic, holding targets in place while the spear is aimed as a javelin. Of course, the quality of the base object would heavily affect the actual quality of the spears created.

History: The Balti-shur family claimed that its lineage extended even from the Age of Gods, though barely anyone paid it much mind, even if they possessed the blueprints of one of the godly weapons of that age. They rose into prominence at the Industrial era after they said they moved from their Middle-Eastern origin to London. Not possessing any clear Crest or familial specialty, nevertheless they ended up with some renown as influence as a good lineage. Most people ended up deciding that they're an established family of foreign magi that somehow came into the possession of the blueprints rather than being as old as they claimed. Murdoch himself was born with good amount of circuits with good quality, and his talent and determination when he was younger allowed him to climb the ranks until he managed to be an instructor, though it only lasted for two years until he got fed up with how much he was dragged into the Clock Tower's politics despite working for the department with the least connection with the usual power struggles. He left the Association five years ago, and spent his time as a freelancer that occasionally hunt down deviants, or halfheartedly joined the hunt for someone with Sealing Designation to see if he could claim the rewards before the enforcers do.
Other: He really do love Archaeology, and spent a lot of his time once he went freelancer traveling the world in search of ruins. His survival skill is quite good due to this.
