Illusionists in today's world can pull off sleight-of-hand tricks and stage magic that are not magical at all. Think like Oz from Oz, The Great and Powerful and these are the types of Illusions he'd be familiar with, basically.

As for Speechcraft, its basically just a fancy word I'm using for his ability to bullshit an audience through his skills in talking.
