Either way, I think there's no point getting into a discussion over the arena forum based on what one toxic person (who's not even [i]affiliated[/i] with them) did. As for the matter of the other forums; well we never really had a "spam" forum on the role-playing sites I ran but we did have a "game" forum, and for the most part the off-topic discussion forum was pretty civil too. Then again, so was the arena; I don't make a habit of letting toxic people into my invite-only communities. That's precisely one of the reasons why I'm feeling like taking my leave; I'm feeling the toxicity of some people here enough that it's very much akin to feeling mentally poisoned.
