I'd like to have responded to this sooner, but life's a bitch sometimes and I've got too much to do.

If you're feeling down there's no problem letting it out here; that's what having community is for in my eyes. I don't see it as "ranting", so stick with the word "confiding" because it's more appropriate; you're not doing anything that goes outside of the rules of my thread.
