Hmm, I think a lot of Mages would get along very well with Assassins. Of course you will have Magi like Kayneth who wanted to show off their magical abilities, but I do think there are a lot of Magi who would be perfectly fine with having their problems disappear in the middle of the night with a quick stab and a short shriek. Kiritsugu was most likely only unique in that aspect insofar as he was willing to use modern tech to pull it off.
