Indeed it is a great anime; in fact it's the only piece of fiction I've ever seen that was completely one hundred percent realistic yet still held my interest. I usually disdain fighting systems that are completely realistic because I find guns rather boring and fist fighting has a limit; in my own setting I combine the heavily realistic characterization you would expect to see in that series with very complex paranormal combat, essentially. Nevertheless, yeah, Naoki Urasawa's Monster is up there with my top five series of all time.

The avatar is essentially being modified to look like [@Ailyn Evensen]'s primary character; they were visually similar to an extent so it's mostly a matter of messing around with the colour scheme.
