The way to know that he's Redding will be very nuanced. Brooks is going to have to pay really close attention to pick it out, so I hope he'd good at reading body language.

Redding is going to turn around, screaming "Fuck yourselves!" at the top of his lungs. Magdump all his eight rounds at the Fiends, jump over the counter, pull David down behind it and get his shotgun before planning to jump out one of the windows, provided Brooks can lay down some suppressing fire. I figure Brooks will be on the side of the man who isn't dressed like a BDSM enthusiast who can only shop at the Road Warrior costume warehouse.

Considering Redding's old gang is still far away in Fernley or some other small town, he's pretty much banking on the kindness of strangers right now.
