Also, been needing to put these up for awhile. I'll do proper ones in a bit, but I figure you guys wanna know more about some of the characters.
Name: Beecher Betelgeuse Nickname: Tells people to call him…or her…it B.B., but they often are coerced into doing it. Race: Human…ish Gender: Uh…dunno. “What’s life without a little mystery, sweetie?” Age: “Is only a number, but I don’t feel older than 24, baby. ;)” Weapons/Equipment/Armor: B.B. calls it “Goopy Richard,” but it’s a specially designed mass of “smart gel” that’s infused with Dust particles. It’s more stable than most weapons utilizing Dust, but the effects aren’t as strong. B.B. wears specialized gloves that control the Richard through puppeteer-like hand movement. Richard isn’t a powerful weapon in terms of destruction and raw force, but it has incredibly strong binding and vacuum suction, and is capable of keeping people who are incredibly physically strong people from moving. It’s possibly to dislodge oneself with a burst of Aura, as Richard will retract from the blast radius, and it’s also possibly to nullify Richard’s connection to B.B. with a timed pulse of Aura. However, the size and timing need to be perfectly measured. Semblance: For an idea, of what it is, B.B. calls it “Spanish Fly.” Sort of like the opposite effect of Rose’s Semblance, B.B.’s aura can send out a pulsing energy that reacts with other’s Aura’s and physically excites them, to varying degrees. In battle, it’s a heart pumping adrenaline rush, though B.B. uses it for a smaller effect on his/her “victims” to get them to have conflicting emotions about B.B.’s actions. “Oh, darling, it only intensifies what’s already there. If people didn’t like it, it wouldn’t affect them.” Hobbies: “Suntanning, yoga, fondling…I mean fingering…I mean finding new people to grope…I mean meet. I also enjoy the occasional glass of wine, if the occasion is five times a day. I do very much enjoy reading, honestly, and actually helped stock the school library with more than Grimm related books. I have some other personal hobbies, but if you want to get inside of my cookie jar, it’ll have to be behind closed doors. Oh, and the safe phrase is ‘keep going.’” Bio: B.B. is…an oddity. B.B.’s parents were business people, always jetting around and negotiating mergers, taking over companies and selling them within the hour, and overseeing new company start-ups. They had their hands in a lot of pots, and were incredibly rich. However, they only had a child for appearances at parties to seem sociable, forcing B.B. to take up different skills such as music and dancing to make a good impression. Truth be told, it’s doubtful that they even knew what gender B.B. was themselves, they’d sometimes throw any sort of fancy dress for B.B. to put on, regardless whether it was a suit or dress. Most other guests assumed they just had twins or something, as B.B.’s parents didn’t bother explaining. So B.B. was alone most of the time, when not putting on a show at a party. Not having a housekeeper to be watched by, B.B. spent a lot of time in the study, pouring over the books in the library. Perhaps it was Betelgeuse genes, but B.B. discovered an extraordinary memory, nearly eidetic, and was able to recall many details. When B.B. finally went into school, Mr. and Mrs. B. were actually quite proud of their child’s academic achievements, enough to earn a nod at the dinner table. Whenever they actually ate together, of course. It was puberty when B.B. finally grew tired of the indifferent treatment, and almost ironically, puberty did nothing to help distinguish B.B. as a particular gender. Acting out in school, infractions in the school dress code, and what was said by the teachers to be “aggressive fondling” of anyone who passed by. B.B. reveled in his/her parents finally paying attention, earning quite the reputation throughout the community. Mr. and Mrs. B. valued respectability above everything else, so B.B. made a deal: if they’d promise to pay for his schooling, he’d/she’d go anywhere else to save them embarrassment. The jumped at the chance, sending B.B. off far away, something that they both wanted at this point. Trying to pull away from the family calling of business and corporations, B.B. enrolled in a Hunters prep. school, though stuck with “Hunter” rather than “Huntsman” or “Huntress.” B.B. showed decent skill as a Hunter, having great stamina and physical ability, but felt something was missing. Maybe the physical exertion wore out B.B.’s impressive libido, maybe people were getting tired of finding B.B. peeking up their combat skirts or in their shower, but B.B. felt that the Hunter life wasn’t what he/she was meant to do. So B.B. packed up their oddly terrifying weapon and transferred to an academic school. B.B. then focused on education, albeit with enough allotted time to sexually harass whomever was available. B.B. also, begrudgingly, found an aptitude for business and finances. Although not wishing to follow in his/her parent’s footsteps, B.B. decided that it was better to be true to yourself than to be something you’re not. So B.B. eventually graduated with a M.Fin. and an M.B.A., and would happily regale the experience as being “On top of everyone in the class.” “You mean you graduated top of the class?” “I know what I said.” Unfortunately, B.B.’s antics made it quite difficult to get a job, despite the extraordinary credentials and talent. Not regular firm or corporation would hire him/her, and B.B. wasn’t going to ask Mr. and Mrs. B. for help now that he/she was graduated. So B.B. looked towards some place that would appreciate more than just the business skills. When B.B. applied to Beacon, long ago, it was running on thin ice, financially. Despite being one of the top schools for Hunters, no one person was directly in charge of finances, and none of the faculty really had experience in that area. So finding top honors graduate with Grimm experience seemed like a Godsend…at first. B.B. quickly sorted all the money problems, finding new ways to bring in money, better priced materials for construction and weapon crafting, higher quality facilities for training, B.B. made Beacon shine even more than before. To this day, faculty still appreciate B.B. with a grain of salt. When business needs to be done, B.B. is professional and prompt, but with any sort of leeway or slack, you can expect to find a hand in your pants. Usually it’s all in playful fun, a few smacks and B.B. backs off giggling, though students and teachers who cause significant destruction to school property have been known to be assigned sessions with B.B. to “help file paperwork with baby oil…I mean lubricant…I mean cabinets. Naughty bits.” Ask anyone who’s been subjected to that, and their face grow sullen and distant, and they walk away, muttering to themselves for hours. Personality: Flamboyant, Glamorous, a potential-rapisty. B.B. is completely shameless and will take any excuse to grope anything on anyone. Even in clothing choice, B.B. seems to have no reservations, though figuring out exactly which, or what, gender B.B. is nigh impossible despite the flamboyant faculty member being 85% nude in public. But Beacon has a surprising amount of business going through it now, with sponsorship deals and clients wishing to purchase assistance from the faculty and student body involving Grimm, so B.B.’s time is often spent in the Financial office. But woe if any part of you is attractive to either sex, because B.B.’s hands will find their way to it one way or another.
---
Name: Ashton Cross Nickname: Ace, Crosshair, Ash Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 18 Weapons/Equipment/Armor: “Calamitous Jane and Oakland Annabel,” twin revolvers that have been retrofitted with auto-feed bullet gauntlets. Ashton can alter the feed to put in particular bullets that are specially made, or just have regular bullets for rapid-fire. They’re named after his great-grandfather’s aunts, who taught him to shoot. Ashton is able to fire them at a incredibly high rate, so far his fastest is 16 rounds a second. But he’s always training, and always improving, so he’s expecting to get faster while he’s at Beacon. Also on his gauntlets are two extendable tethers that he can rope things with, which he likes to call “Laser Lassos,” as they have a special luminescent filament with strengthens it’s bonds and fibers by running Dust Energy through it. Very difficult to break even without Dust, and Ashton is very good at lassoing things with them. Semblance: “Tracker Tracer,” Ashton has the ability to infuse his Aura with objects, allowing him to do two things. 1) Allow him to be able to sense the exact position of an object, the exactness growing vaguer while his Aura fades from the object. 2) Cause the object to be somewhat magnetically attracted to the first object, and while in motion, try to follow the first. How strong the attraction is depends on how much Aura he puts into it. His Aura has a certain polarity, it’s like it has different frequencies rather than being separate types of Aura, but the second “polarity” seems very much dependant on the first. Hobbies: Shooting, roping, riding, taming, and strangely enough, leather work. Isn’t too shabby with a guitar or a harmonica either, and cookies a mean pot of beans. Though he likes to do it, he’s not very good at barbecuing, his steaks coming out like giant, burnt, awful tasting cookies. Bio: Ashton Cross is the great-grandson of the late Captain Cash “Crazy” Cross, who fought in the previous Kingdom Wars for Vale. In battle, he’d often issue orders on the fly, running headfirst to face the enemy and succeeding against all odds, or running away seemingly to escape and sniping every soldier from far away. He was dangerous up close or at a distance, and often his celebrations would be as destructive as his battles. But despite his problems, he was a war hero, and Ashton grew up asking time and time again to hear stories of his great-grandfather. He always had a thirst for the glory of battle, but wars between Kingdoms had long since been done away with when the Grimm rose up again. So Ashton did the next best thing, and set out to be a Huntsman. He’d grown up on a farm, and has many skills and talents of the iconic “cowboy,” and very much looks and acts the part. However, his great pride of his family name sometimes gets the better of him, and he rubs people the wrong way, and Ashton is not one for apologies. Personality: Spirited, clever, and risk-taking. Often shoots first and asks questions after shooting some more. Luckily, he’s often insightful, but he very much enjoys flying by the seat of his pants. Appearance:
---
Name: Jonah Hensworth Steelson Nickname: Steam, Steel, Hammer Guy Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 17 Weapons/Equipment/Armor: Two Hammers which can combine into one large hammer or a longer double ended one, the separate hammers each having a strap that Jonah can wrap around his wrist. Each has four Dust jets, two at either end of the hammer head and two along the handle, which can rotate and pivot. Each hammer weighs over 50 pounds, and the jets are strong enough to send the hammer flying at very high speeds. Jonah throw the hammers and summon them back, controlling the flight/trajectory of each hammer with wristbands that send signals based on the movement of his arms. One hammer is dark red, the other dark blue, and when they combine to form the large hammer, the heads separate into segmented chunks and look as a mish-mash of red and blue. Is able to achieve short flight with the hammer jets, though it burns up more Dust than usual to carry loads rather than just flying itself, but Jonah’s developed a technique involving swinging the hammer, jumping, and activating the jets which allows him to traverse decently long distances quickly and using a minimal (though still relatively significant) amount of Dust. He’s named them, but the naming is a little odd. The blue hammer is called “Polly Ann,” the red is “Julie Ann,” but when they’re combined it’s “Lucy” or “Lucille,” for the double ended hammer and large hammer, respectively. Semblance: “Steelskin Overdrive,” Jonah can supercharge the amount of Aura he produces, though it has a rough impact on his body overall, especially his heart if he overuses it. Once in Overdrive, his skin becomes incredibly tough, able to withstand great amounts of force with no damage, and he stars emitting clouds of steam from the process. His strength is also increased, but again, the toll that’s taken on his body usually affects him after he’s out of Overdrive, it can be incredibly dangerous if he doesn’t give his body time to recuperate. Hobbies: Very much enjoys singing, crafting, and carpentry. Though he likes the mechanics behind weapons, he dislikes most other forms of technology, not so much that he won’t ever use any, but that he prefers doing things by hand or the old-fashioned way if relatively possible to do so. Bio: Jonah comes from a working family, he’s lived rough his whole life. Men from his family had long since been Dust miners, helping to coordinate and mine out new Dust deposits. It wasn’t incredibly dangerous, but it obviously wasn’t the safest job in the world. But when new Mining Bots became better designed, his father was in danger of being laid-off. When the foreman had bought a new bot to try out, Jonah’s father challenged it to see who could mine more to hopefully save the jobs of the workers. Incredibly, Jonah alone was able to collect more Dust than the robot was able to, using his Aura Semblance. However, the competition was then attacked, the mined Dust was rigged with esplosives, and the quarry was overrun with terrorists from White Fang. Jonah’s father was able to hold them off while the workers escaped, but in the process, he had been in Overdrive too long, and died. Jonah took it incredibly hard, taking it upon himself to take revenge. His mother Lucille had long ago died, and her sister’s Polly and Julie Ann took him in. Jonah crafted his own hammers, naming them after the important women in his life, and set out to become a Hunter, gaining combat skills to one day take revenge on the people who killed his father. Personality: Very intense and serious, has no mind for jokes or pranks. Straightforward and direct, he very quickly gets to the point of things and doesn’t like to dance around the topic of a conversation. Though he doesn’t hate all Fauna, he’s usually uneasy around them at first, not exactly abrasive but not the most accommodating, until he gets to know them. The memory of those who attacked his father is still fresh. Appearance:
---
Name: Lorelei Serena Nickname: Lei Race: Sparrow Faunus Gender: Female Age: 17 Weapons/Equipment/Armor: “Silent Seduction,” is a large Gauntlet, that has retractable talons that are set along the wrist when not in use. Its forearm guard is very wide, and the end doesn’t fit right over the hand. The talon part is attached to a launching grapple, and the fingers are controlled by sensors within the forearm guard where the wearer’s hand resides. It’s specially constructed to resonate at different frequencies, either from the guard for a large-scale wave or at the end of the hand for a focused burst. While any user can make the sound waves, only Lorelei’s Semblance can interact with them well enough to do anything besides painful high frequencies. Along the arm is metal plating that looks like feathers, which can ruffle up to help shield Lorelei from a large attack or, in an emergency, be thrown as razor sharp daggers. They can magnetically return back to the gauntlet, though she must get in very close range to do so, but they aren’t that difficult to make if she loses any. Semblance: “Perfect Pitch,” Lorelei’s Semblance allows her to sense sound waves around her and modulate any sound wave she physically produces. It doesn’t have to come from her body, but she needs to be in direct contact with whatever is emitting or amplifying the sound wave, and the amount of Aura needed is somewhat relative to the size of the wave. It’s not directly proportionate, but she does need more for a larger wave than a smaller. It then can affect people’s bodies, her Aura using the sound waves to bypass any resistance that another person’s Aura might pose. She can affect a person’s mind and body, though more significant effects take a longer time to set in, and only affect them while she’s able to sustain the same sound. She’s so far been able to make people have feelings of love as a sort of “mind control,” can make them feel intense pains in their ears, and can make them hear things that aren’t there (While this can be used as a distraction, she can also use it as a form of secret communication). She’s found it works best in battle with her weapon, though she’s able to use it with most any musical instrument as well, including her own voice. Her Semblance is also very much tied to her ears as well, due to a horrible accident from her childhood ruining her eyes, and her Aura seemed to develop that Semblance to compensate. So her hearing is much greater than most, but she can be unable to use her Semblance if her hearing is damaged in some way. Hobbies: Singing, playing instruments, and swimming. She very much likes to be in the water, as she can actually see clearer with her Semblance in the water than on land. Bio: Lorelei Serena is one of the many illegitimate daughters of renowned musician and cruise line owner River Prince, who has a habit of leaving his groupies a little surprise after he leaves town. Lorelei’s mother was a simple office worker whose only claim to fame was a one-night stand with the musician years ago, raising Lorelei up by herself. When she told the girl who her father was, a 8 year-old Lorelei set out to meet him, looking up where he was and stealing/saving enough money to set out on her own to go see him. Against all odds, she made it, relatively safe and sound, to a coastal city that River’s cruise ship was about to depart from. Trying to sneak on board, some dock workers there said they’d help her, saying that they’d load her up in a box to put aboard. These men were less than truthful, as they had no love for Fauna and sought to get their kicks by torturing the little girl. They kept her in the box on a small fishing boat for days, giving some water and entertaining themselves by dangling exposed electrical cables down to shock her. Luckily, there’s been complaints and calls about noises at the docks, some saying they heard what sounded like a little girl crying out in pain, though the police hadn’t looked into it. However, a passing Hunter heard rumors of it and decided to investigate it themselves, finding the boat and Lorelei, who was very much in need of medical attention. Unfortunately, the Hunter was attacked from behind by the dock workers, and in the ensuing fight, one of the electrical cables fell on Lorelei’s eyes. The Hunter soundly defeated the men, and rushed the girl to the hospital, but by then it was too late to save her sight. The Hunter took her back to her mother, who had been searching everywhere for the girl since she left. Years later, she’d gotten passed her ordeal, and had gotten used to her new disability. However, the Hunter left a strong impression on her, as their face was one of the last things Lorelei ever actually saw. The girl decided to try to become a Hunter, despite the setbacks her blindness proved, and oddly enough, her Aura developed in a way to compensate for it. She may someday meet her father, but for now she’s focusing on making the person who’s done more for her than River ever did proud, and is trying to be the best Hunter she can be. But she still bears her emotional scars as well as physical ones, which can still cause problems for her. Personality: While she knows that not all humans are like the ones who caused her blindness, she is quite tense around them, and is very aggressive against those who are racist towards Fauna (Faunist?). She’s very manipulative, reasoning that she has to be to make sure she doesn’t get tricked again, and doesn’t trust easily. She also is very claustrophobic from her experience, getting very manic and defensive if she’s ever trapped in some place. She knows she’s very attractive and uses that to her advantage whenever possible, but her scars around her eyes are something she tries her best to hide, either with sunglasses or a blindfold. Unless she feels very close to someone, she’d never let them see her without something covering her eyes.
