I'm not implying that's the only reason the system is broken; I can think of countless reasons. All the society systems across the world are broken for a variety of issues, and novels could be written about them. I go into plenty of it in my own story, actually. It's not something I plan to go into discussion about right now though, so I'll just be giving my thoughts on a more reaction-orientated basis as I've been doing so far. I'm mostly saying that blaming the situation on the candidates is pointless because the system is broken for too many other reasons in the first place.

In the end, people aren't perfect; their systems can only be as perfect as they are. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to better things though, like so many apathetically believe.
