Gods

The Twelve Children of Orieon

The Light

Elsingdar is the incarnation of fire, light and Intelligence. Those who draw their power from Elsingdar are the most brilliant mages, architects and scientists of this age. When the six Immortals were split into their current twelve forms is was said that when Elsingdar was separated from its other half known as the Devourer it was the separation of light from the event horizon of a black hole that caused the two beings to come into existence when they had once existed as the combination of energy and matter in one being. The literal incarnations of light and darkness. Elsingdar’s church is less a church and more a network of brilliant inventors and mages who span the whole of Galendar and use each other for support and guidance in their personal endeavours. The clerics of Galendar are often eccentric and brilliant tacticians, strategists, and architects. Channeled magic users that draw of Elsingdar’s power are some of the most accomplished, light, fire and radiation using mages in all of Galendar. They are easily identified by an iridescent quality to their eyes that makes them shine in the dark Elsingdar currently has no Avatar as Lorden the Nova Light died during the Reclamation of Galendar fighting the Twilight Council.

Exandar was born when Orieon decided that there would be morality. However Exandra was born not as a tool of right or wrong but as the deliverer of Judgement. Exandra is the only one of the Divine Light who actively engages in Judgement of those who breaks rules. Many of the other Divine can’t actually act within Galendar however Exandra can be summoned by its Clerics to sit in judgement of any break in rules. No matter what the Law might actually be. So long is it is codified and a population supports the Law. However calling on Exandra for trivial matters is inviting Judgement on one's hubris. The churches of Exandar are any place where Judgement is handed down. His clerics are often Judges, Knights and those who believe in punishing law breakers. The Clerics of Exandar channel powers that prevent the escape of law breakers as well as helping to defend themselves, detect lies and hunt down law breakers. There are two types of followers of Exandar, Lawbringers and Lawgivers. Lawbringers are the footsoldiers of the church and only look to the letter of the law and enforcing it beyond anything else. Lawgivers are the clerics of the church which concern themselves with actual interpretations of the spirit of a given law. The current Avatar of Exandar is Reinhart Morifarium, The Living Oath. Ex-Paladin of the Tower of Stars.

It is said that when Orieon stared into the pool of the stars he saw infinity. And thus Faros was born. Prior to the creation of Faros; Orieon lacked any concept of time. Faros bent time in on itself and Orieon foresaw his own demise. As such he charged Faros with the protection of time itself so that no being might ever foresee its own demise. As a result Faros grants its clerics the power to peer beyond the veil, manipulate the flow of time gently as well as sort through the past. Faros’ clerics are also called Time Keepers. There is only one other sect of time mages besides the Time Keepers. All others are obliterated. Even wild magic users. Or so it is said.. Faros’ Churches are known as Nexus they are places where time is suspended. These Sanctuaries often have a normal outer layer and an inner sanctum where time flows in strange patterns, slower or faster. Faros clerics are known as Time Keepers as they enforce Faros laws preventing people from delving too deeply into the future...or even the past. The Time Keepers are some of the only beings who may cast time magic. They are the only beings capable of slowing or speeding time. Some claim that the most powerful Time Keepers can even stop time. Briefly. Faros clerics are marked by an ageless quality. Zeriaxian The Herald of the Emerald Eclipse is the current Avatar of Faros. A green dragon from the early days of Galendar. Very little is known of the Avatar as she does not interfere much in the affairs of Galendar.

Orcorum is the keeper of Orieon’s Knowledge. The only being in existence that can claim a fraction of Orieon knowledge. Orcorum is a being designed to guard knowledge; not born but built. Orieon built Orcorum to defend all knowledge no matter what its source. The Wielder of Knowledge strangely has little records beyond its creation. Much of this stems from the fact that Orcorum very rarely if ever has been engaged in the events of Galendar’s past save for the act of recording it. Orcorum’s clerics are librarians, archeologists and those who wish to preserve knowledge in any form. Orcorum does not differentiate between good and evil. His churches are massive libraries and museums. Orcorum’s clerics are granted a wide varieties of powers as their god has knowledge of all magics, the only magics they are forbidden are Death magics and Time magics. Orcorum has no current Avatar

Seyardil is the second half of the bonded pair which Orieon created. While Unvaris holds dominion of suffering Seyardil holds dominion over Pleasure, Joy, Love, Hope, Conviction and Fortitude in the face of adversity. Many of Galendar’s inhabitants see Seyardil as a being of good but in reality this is simply not the case. Seyardil is simply the embodiment of desirable feelings and emotions. Similar to Unvaris, Seyardil’s clerics are not willing. They are also typically short lived. Seyardil choses its clerics from those who experience an abundance of positive emotions for extended periods of time in their lives. The problem is that many of Seyardil’s clerics are naive and often targeted by clerics and followers of Unvaris. Leading to many of Seyardil’s clerics being killed. Seyardil’s churches are places of relaxation and pleasure, oddly enough occasionally this includes brothels on the list of places that occasionally become a church of Seyardil. Similar to Unvaris, Seyardil’s churches have a physical manifestation of relaxing and pleasurable feelings. They are often referred to as Euphoria Elementals. Seyardil has no current Avatar

Thandarillasad was born when life was brought to the world. Thandarillasad is the incarnation of life in any form. It refuses to permit the existence of the Undead whenever it can prevent their existence. Thandarillasad was charged by Orieon to nourish life in all its forms. Thandarillasad prevents death where it can. Its Clerics are known as Shaman’s and they are his mortal agents in the world. Thandarillasad’s churches can be found in all shapes and sizes anywhere life flourishes. Thandarillasad grants its Shamans incredibly powerful nature and life magics for the purpose of defending others from those who would try to harm them. Shamans are permitted to break Thandarillasad's forbearance on death for the purpose of stopping those who would harm others or destroy the Wild Bringers sanctuaries. Miriam Clearwater is a Elder Sidhe who left the courts of Spring to serve as the living form of Thandarillasad in the mortal world.

The Dark

Norforandus was born when Orieon first destroyed the bridge between the stars and Galendar. The Devourer is an ancient all consuming hunger that worms its way into the hearts of all things, It is the embodiment of hunger, need, desire and destruction. Clerics of the hunger are often those who have lost their sanity or have given themselves over to some all consuming desire. Some of the most powerful clerics in all of Galendar; they are few and far between. Norforandus clerics also lack any form of formal organization. There are currently no Churches of Norforandus in Galendar as they are created when whole cities devolve into indulgence and consumption without restraint. In the end Norforandus itself manifests and consumes the whole city. Norforandus Avatar is an ancient Orc from the beginning of Galendar. Grolack is one of Galendar’s oldest, and powerful beings rivalling Shard and Lord Umbral in power.

Qtelneick was created as a means to prevent Orcorum from becoming complacent. The Fractured Sight is Galendar’s god of decay and deception. While Xandrius may be the lord of secrets Qtelneick hold dominion of lies and sedition for the purpose of tearing something down. Qtelneick has also begun to infringe on Faros precious flow of time causing it to decay when Faros clerics grow too lax. Qtelneick’s clerics are agents of erosion and sedition. They differ from Xandrius clerics in that they are not agents of chaos and they don’t target stagnation. Qtelneick’s clerics target anything and everything that was built through work. They exist to tear down institutions, cities, architecture and occasionally time itself. Qtelneick’s Avatar, Erion the Plague that Walks, has not been seen in over five hundred years.

Thotafus is the patron of magic abusers, addicts and the Second lived. Thotafus originally created the second lived to inhabit bodies close to golems. They were beings that were denied a rest in the care of Yishreenok.Thotafus collected the denied souls and gave them a second lease on life. While many see it as a blessing, or an abomination; to Thotafus it was a mercy and the begining of a new race of beings. The temples of Thotafus are places of addiction and pain, they are also places of redemption and recovery for the addicted. Thotafus clerics can manipulate the emotions and perceptions of their enemies.Masters of Dark magics and individuals with few limits on what they seek out as knowledge. They are additionally highly skilled at inflicting precises pain and slowly lamenting deaths upon their enemies. Thotafus has no Avatar currently after the assassination of Joraxian Felmind by the Order of the Tarot.

Unvaris was born when Orieon created the heartshaper. It is the other half of the bonded pair. Unvaris is everything that The Heartshaper is not. It is the embodiment of pain, suffering, hatred jealousy and all of the other emotions that the Heartshaper does not hold dominion over. Unvaris is not an evil god by any stretch of the imagination. It merely is. It is the other half of a being that is not inherently good simply embodies the more desired emotions. Unvaris Clerics are never willing. They are always those who suffer and continue to suffer, cripples, those in pain or those who uncontrollably hate. Unvaris churches are places of pain. Anywhere the pain has become so intense that it is allowed to manifest in a physical form Unvaris itself has made the place holy. All of Unvaris churches have a physical manifestation of suffering or misery. They are occasionally called Pain elementals Unvaris has no Avatar currently

Xandrius was born as Elsingdar’s Shadow and reflection. One day Elsingdar realized that even though it brought light and fire to the world it still cast its own shadows. Elsingdar severed its own shadow and reflection then cast them aside. Without thinking Elsingdar cast the shadow into the world of Galendar where it absorbed life and experience from the world. It grew on the chaos and unpredictability of life and it came to embody it all. When Xandrius finally rose from the world again it was a thousand faces, a thousand shadows, and a thousand reflections. The keeper of secrets, chaos and a life full of experience. The patron of thieves, prostitutes, beggars, conman, hackers, sellswords and those who know what it is to live life. Elsingdar saw this and at once tried to shine its light upon Xandrius but he slipped away. Everyday when the sun rises we see it repeated again as shadows recede from the light. Xandrius churches can be found in places where strange faces and weary travelers can sleep in safety for the night and move on the next day. Never knowing the stories of those who slept under the same roof. Xandrius clerics are a very different breed. They are the wanders, the wayless, the homeless and the lost. They are people who have given up ever having a home to walk the road endlessly, never staying for long and seldom remembered Xandrius has another sect of Clerics known as The Heralds of Change. They are diviners whose card decks bring fair and foul luck and the means to enact sudden and unexpected change. Xandrius has no avatar due to its avatar being broken up into thirty decks that have been scattered across Galendar for the purpose of causing upheaval in stagnant places. A word to the wise. Many have tried and none have succeeded in bringing all of the chaos decks together but scholars speculate that if it ever happened an Avatar of Xandrius would be born.

Yishreenok is the incarnation of death and disease. Yishreenok is said to guard the world of the dead against intrusion by those who would treat with them. Those Yishreenok has made pacts with are the most powerful Necromancer’s the known world has seen. Yishreenok is also the guide for those who depart the living world and pass over into the beyond. While The Keeper of the Dead is evil by nature it is not malevolent for the sake of evil, it is a necessary evil beyond the understanding of mortals. The Avatar of Yishreenok is known as Michael Onyxheart, Michael has been the Avatar of Yishreenok since the beginning of the first Stygian war and is considered to be one of the most powerful Avatars in Galendar currently.

The Twilight Council

Freydana is the Twilight Counsels mistress of arcana, knowledge and spies. The Amethyst Oculus oversees all of the mages of the Stygian empire and manages the spies of the empire through her clerics. The Amethyst Oculus appears as a beautify female elf with an amethyst skin tone clothed in purple robes. Before she joined the Twilight Council Freydana was a goddess of beauty and romance and while they are still a part of her portfolio her worshippers and compatriots rarely acknowledge it.

Nefriltilus is the Twilight Councils mistress of Shadow. The patron of Assassins Thugs and enforces. She is also one of the leading patrons of clerics and the patron of Half Orcs and Ethereal undead. Nefriltilus was originally a goddess of thieves, luck, and bad weather. But now she is a Goddess of a Moonless night.

The Lord under the Earth was originally a nature god however the original spirit to inhabit the mantle was slain by the Aberration General Shezranod who usurped the mantle and has corrupted the original worship of the god. Shezranod is now the lord of Dark Druids and the handful of Aberrations who have survived since the original Aberration War. No one is quite sure how Shezranod took the mantle without being destroyed however it has given the being a dangerous level of power checked only by It That Reigns In Shadow

Testrila is the Stygian Lord of Death. And he is a callous Grim Reaper with no regard to the pain and suffering death brings. He is a truly evil god and expects his clerics to pay for their power with a steady tithe of souls. Very little is known of Testrila beyond its place as the right hand of Overack. Its Clerics lead the fight against the Necromancers of Yishreenok during the First Stygian War

Vazierian The Waster is a god of war, sand, sun and blood who’s goal is to subsume the world in sand and blood. This Desert God has risen in power steadily for the last several thousand years and he is one of the few Twilight Council members with worshipers in Galendar. Infact Vazierian is the only God of the Twilight Council who is not from Stygia; having been recruited from the Northern Kingdoms pantheon after it killed the Elemental Lord of Sand and consuming its mantle. Vazierian’s mortal stronghold Anorch Solal the seat of the Coven of Dust in the Northern Wastes. Vazierian’s clerics are known as Dustwalkers or Scarab Lords. Vazierian's church, the Coven of Dust, is a massive religious organization that rules the Holy city of Aroch Sol in the Northern wastes

Overack is the Stygian god of Dominion and rule by force. Overacks Clerics are the most powerful combatants the world has ever seen commanding channeled magics which can single handedly rally armies and crush those who would stand against them. Overack is responsible for the corruption of the entire twilight council and is the only member with an Avatar: The Stygian God-King.

The Elemental Council

The lords/ladies are: The Elemental Lord of Storms (Ivorak)- Christian’s father and the third most powerful Elemental lord. The Elemental Lord of Storms is arrogant and highly traditional demanding respect from all. The Elemental Lady of Water (Ishlia)- The council of elements second oldest member and by far the wittiest, currently lacks an Avatar. The Elemental Lord of Air (Leatha)- The fourth oldest member of the elemental council, he lacks much of the restraint of the other members but is often the most easy going. The Elemental Lady of Fire (Caustus)- The third oldest and second most powerful member of the council. The elemental lady of fire is cunning and ruthless without limit. The Elemental Lord of Earth (Revarus)- The oldest and most powerful member of the council. The elemental lord of earth is the slowest to move to action however he is single handedly the wisest and patient member of the council. He is also known for his capacity to hold a grudge. The Elemental Lady of Metal (Yithia)- One of the younger members of the Elemental lords. The Elemental Lady of Metal is often one of the most divided members of the council and is seen as a swing vote and rogue. The Elemental Lord of Sand (Hinon)- The youngest and most volatile member of the council. The Elemental Lord of Sands almost always sides with the Elemental Lord of Earth’s decisions out of respect for the one who helped him ascend to status as an Elemental Lord. Most speculate that it was a political move on the Lord of Earth’s part as it required him to give up part of his power and domain. The Elemental Lord of sand is also the child of Vazierian who killed the original Lord of Sand. The Elemental Lady of Woods (Sishwa)- The Lady of Woods is seen as unpredictable and easily swayed by the other members. She is the second swing vote on the council. Easy to convince and incredibly caring and kind, she is also the consort of Thandarillasad. The Elemental Lords and Lady of Shadow (Tribunal) (Klot, Non, and Laut)- These three Elementals share the power of an elemental Lord split three ways. This was done intentionally by the council as a means of preventing another Lord rising to the council. The Tribunal of Shadow also has no voice on the council unless the council is split evenly.
