Such a valuable member of his team, on the side lines before even having a chance to fight against-

He had the intention of attempting to find a Pokemon to combat her Haunter, but now he had no choice but to go in with what he had. "... Well. I guess we'll be competing a bit earlier than I thought." He said, a small amount of concern in his voice. He wanted to challenge Lily as much as possible; And with how things were looking, her newest contender was a huge threat. Possibly enough to win her the match, even if he fought well. He'd have to figure something out quick, or he was in trouble.

Holding out a hand, his smile returned, although not as big as before. "Good luck." He said, simply. It was all that was to be said; If she won, he'd keep up his side of the bargain. But he had no intentions of letting her win unless she brought him down below her and proved herself superior; Judging everything as he could see it, he could tell that might be easier for her than he originally thought. She just might be better than him without even having to battle to prove it; But the fight had to happen. And he wasn't backing down.
