Originally Gaston's fiance, Belle decided days before their wedding that the lives of their people were more important than walking down the aisle with the man that she loved, putting them before her relationship and ignoring the pleas of reason from both her father and her fiance, she agreed to the terms of the Rumplestiltskin's deal, choosing to leave with him in the hopes that it would save everyone that she loved. Finding herself under the care of the Dark One himself, Isabella quickly became nothing more than a common housemaid, left alone to the chores given to her and the knowledge that she would never again see those that she cared about.
