[i]..hey..! Yeah; I’m talkin’ to you lot. The pile of fresh meat all standing around with that adorable look of hope and wonder in your eyes... and, well, if you want some advice, this ones free of charge: enjoy it while it lasts. ‘Cause once this little ‘honeymoon’ period comes to an end, you’ll soon realize that life in this pathetic camp isn’t all it’s cracked up to be- oh, and trust me, I know this better than anyone else you’ll meet here.
You see, there’s one reason you’re all here; it’s because you’re different- because you’re special... You’re not like others out there in the world, and you never will be- and even though I would love nothing more than to leave you all to fend for yourselves; my unfortunate job here today is to let you all know that you aren’t alone in this… but just because you’re now surrounded by people who are like you, doesn’t mean that your life is going to be filled with sunshine and roses. So because I have no choice but to play the part of your ‘happy little tour guide’, let me give you a heads up on the workings of this place…
So… from this day forward, the camp is now your home- but whether or not this is for the summer, or all year round is up to you and you alone; no one can make that choice for you, and not every person you meet here is going to be so welcoming… Be careful who you cross. Making alliances with other cabins can keep you from ending up under the care of the Apollo kids in the infirmary- but fair warning to you all..! Even those who seem most innocent… they can be some of the more dangerous of those you’ll meet here in stupid camp.
Now, I’m not going to waste my time by showing you where everything is; and don’t think for a minute that I’m going to stand around answering all your stupid questions at the end of this little ‘chat’ of ours- so here’s the basics... you have Half-Blood hill, the big house, the mess hall, the infirmary…there’s also the stables, the training grounds, the chariot course, the obstacle tower, the lake- but the more important of them all are the cabins. If you know your Godly parent; good for you, you’re not completely hopeless… if you don’t know, however, you’ll be staying in cabin six with the Hermes children.
Now, just a little friendly heads up about some of the cabins, and those who call them home… The Ares kids are testy, some of them have anger issues, and they have no problems picking fights with people who cross them... the Hephaestus kids are the ones to see if you have any issues with any of your little gadgets or gizmos, or anything mechanical; you have a custom job in mind, or want a commission, go find Ky’ vie, if you can’t find the red-head, she’ll be in her garage… Right, and unless your looking at taking a very long nap, I suggest you steer clear of the Morpheus cabin… Oh, and just so you know- I’m the worst of them all. So have fun little greenies, and remember… stay out of my way.[/i]
