Personality:
Brutally blunt and obsessively cyncial, demons shaped the larger part of Ren's outlook on life. He accepts everyone acts in self interest and laughs in the face of selflessness. He sees that which some call sins as regular parts of existance and sometimes even actively tries to get goodie two shoes to indulge. Though really he prefers to watch others deal with that. Most of the time, he can't be bothered to do more than half heartedly laugh at the optimistic fools.


History:
Magical families were a bit of work honestly. Between blood fueds and inbreeding, long lineages crumbled and vanished without much outside work. Only those that reconized their dire situations and adapted survived. The Alastire coven and the Saito warlocks set aside their century long wars and came together in an attempt to ensure the survival of their blood lines. Daughters and sons married into the others and several children were born. With the exception of one pair. Regina Alastire and Hikari Saito discovered thier infertility and called on their families excessive knowledge to reverse the twist of fate. And they did.


Ren was born as soon as his mother died. The forbidden magics used to create him infused the baby with the essence of the void, a magical force that draws souls into itself. His father reconized their mistake and sequestered the boy away, conjuring demons as playmates and caretakers. They seemed immune to his corrupting touch. 


When he was 10, the demons taught him void walking. Creatures with a close connection to the primordial force could enter the realm at will. It was a dark, twisted version of his reality, structures crumbling and disappearing and creatures unfathomable to the mind skittered to and fro. Space had little meaning in this world. He could ignore solid objects, ignore gravity, ignore distance.


Once his father realized he could escape his room without notice, the boy was considered a threat to the family and was sent away to the Academy to keep him out of trouble

Skills:

Corruption: The void, the all devouring maw, channels itself through his touch and eats away at denizens of Ren's homeplane. Touching them causes waves of fatigue to slowly lull them to sleep as he drains their life force. 

Void Walker: Stepping into the void, Ren can traverse large distances regardless of direction. He can bring others along with him but if they are in too long, they are trapped and fade from existance.

Piano: Probably the only positive thing his demon nanny ever taught him. He sometimes plays for hours, only noticing his fingers are raw and aching afterwards.
