I haven't been reading To aru NT for a while. Please tell me what exactly Gemstones do? [@Crimmy] I will deal with the upcoming CSs accordingly. Thanks for the IC guys. Need not make a plot post for a while. Whoever wanna pin up Yuki-sensei. Go ahead. But keep your interactions flowing, we love this! [@Suku] Yeah tell us!
Gemstones are naturally-formed Espers. Real diamonds to the artificial diamonds that are the large majority of Espers. Basically, most Espers you get are people who have undergone the Power Curriculum Programme in Academy City, getting experiments done on them to unlock their power (or lack thereof, for those poor Level 0 Espers). Gemstones on the other hand, just naturally turn up, but they're pretty rare. There's only about fifty of them. Their powers tend to be more esoteric. Of the six Gemstones we know to exist (one of dubious canonicity), we know the abilities of three, and they're all weird in some way. Himegami's Deep Blood is vampire catnip that also kills vampires if they drink her blood. Vampires go fucking crazy for her blood and die trying to get it. That's pretty much all her power does. Claire is less a human and more a walking humanoid plant now. Gunha is the most well-known Gemstone, given his Level 5 classification, and his powers are ... very slapdash. We don't really know how his powers work, beyond the fact that the AIM fields he exudes are weird and that he's possibly similar to a Magic God (it also helps that he was able to keep up with Ollerus for a bit). Speaking of Magic Gods, those guys don't particularly like the Gemstones for some reason. We don't know yet.
