Hrmm a Singularitarian character could be interesting, believing that god is some kind of AI that figured out how to send messages into the past to guide humanity to bring about the conditions of its creation, believing Christ was a cyborg, and that Heaven will be online. or something. Plenty of parallels. Or someone who believes that The universe is a simulation, and that God is the Programmer.
