Shanae Eller
— Atana Mountain Range — Soon enough the cool breeze that billowed down from the mountaintops and through Shanae’s hair had developed bitterly cold bites that nipped at the woman as she progressed upwards, feet now sinking the first footprints into fresh snow. Turris kept pace slightly ahead of his trainer, a blue eye darting back every so often in concern for the human. Flesh and bone proved less useful in his native terrain—he knew that. However, it wouldn’t take long before they reached the safety of the cave cavern that Turris had last seen years ago. Shanae’s legs moved as quickly as she could manage up the mountain. The thinning air was less of an issue at the moment than the bitter cold that would soon materialize in the form of gentle but unrelenting snowfall toward the top of the mountain. Luckily, Shanae knew for a fact that she hadn’t made it that the far last time she was here, nor did she hope to today. Today, all she wanted to test herself as a trainer, warm back up to the concept of braving harsh terrains that challenged the mind and body. “Thank god,” Shanae said with relief as Turris stopped in his tracks, diverging from his path straight up and leading the way down a side road that, Shanae knew, would in time reveal the hidden opening of a cavern—the cavern that Shanae had stumbled upon by chance over five years ago. “Oh what would I do without you, Turris?” the trainer joked, following her Pokemon with rapid steps. “Those were some mean waffles. Gonna note this place down in my head for reference,” he said, looking towards the Pokemon at his side. “You both full now?” Hazmat agreed quickly with a happy “Char,” which Cillain pretty much knew to expect at this point. The Charmander almost seemed to have a catchphrase there—one that would work throughout all his later evolutions as well, not that Charizards bellowed their name so much as simply bellowed. On the other hand, Kelby attempted to keep his usual silence but was this time interrupted by a loud “hic.” “Hiccups, Kelb?” Cillian asked, eyes dancing with mirth. The Mudkip shot his trainer a dirty glare that lost its impact when another light “hic” followed, this time clearer than the last. Laughing, Cillian searched his bag for his bottle of water. “Here you are,” he said, opening and handing it to the Mudkip who received it with a nasty glare before upending half its contents into his open mouth. “Whoa—thirsty much?” Cillian joked, taking the offered cup back. The Mudkip responded with another glare that was, of course, interrupted by a loud “hic.”
Cillian (HHG): 43+2 [@kiritoasuna]
