I never specified where exactly my character found the time travel device. It could be in a partially ruined JLA facility. Then it could contact people, or my character could just land in the middle of a busy place and stupid humans start a firefight with him for no reason other than being a scary robot which leads to a hero or more showing up to "save the day."
