It was rather beautiful in the same way that a supernova was: hot and bright, but close proximity to which was likely to end in you getting roasted harder than a chicken in the oven (a fate that KNVS handily avoided due to the ability of Taidan to carry them all while flying). Still, the loss of the forest was perfectly acceptable in return for crippling the Grimm activities in the area, and the lack of foilage meant that it would be far easier to hunt down any future incursions. The Grimm were abominations to be destroyed, after all, and really, there should be no mercy involved when fighting them.
