You would not have access to modern dampeners and besides you have a giant-ass [i]reinforced[/i] longbow which would due to the high pull, long string, etc. have considerable noise. Besides, (especially to get a clear shot) you would have to be relatively close (even more so to aim [i]that[/i] accurately, even as an elf) AND there is the fact that Oid is combat ready thinking that one of Darcyn's men would try to shoot him from the side, so he is specifically looking for somebody to try something. 

Even then, this is really of no consequence to you since either way I did not let the throwing axe even fly, let alone describe it as hitting you so you are as you were.
