It's built for the task. HW has that 'bigger on the inside' thing going on where there's a ton of divine machinery locked up behind its teeth, much of it still linked to Jvan. The two of them rely on sampling, sucking out safe amounts of insentient tissue and growing it on a Petri dish in divine quarantine before modifying it.

So... Vec was right, basically. Science and long experience.

Rest assured the little guy doesn't actually dip its toes in the hell pool, it's not nearly so resilient as J-girl.
