Evelyn was about to bite it.  This Russian psycho would kill her then go off hunting other supers.  She closed her eyes, ready to feel the last ounce of life drain from her so painfully, Anna's hand crushing her frail neck into nothing.

Memories...they faded in and out of her darkening vision, memories of a girl, soft pink hair, eyes as blue as the open skies they lied under looking up at the clouds, laughing, smiling.  Then, Evelyn leaned over, a gentle peck on the lips whispering, [i][color=ed1c24]"I love you..."[/color][/i]

The pink haired girl smiled. [color=f49ac2][i]"I love you too..."[/i][/color]  She said returning the kiss, but...her smile faded somewhat.  She sighed looking to the sky with worry.

[color=ed1c24][i]"Jess?  Baby...what's wrong?"[/i][/color]  Evelyn asked, her brow furrowing.

Jess shook her head, [color=f49ac2][i]"Nothing...I'm just...scared."[/i][/color]

Evelyn didn't have to wonder why.  She laid beside Jess on the flannel blanket, running her fingers through her soft pink hair.  [color=ed1c24][i]"Don't be."[/i][/color]  She whispered kissing her again and caressing her cheek.

Jessica closed her eyes holding Ev's hand close to her cheek, yet another soft smile fading from apprehension.  [color=f49ac2][i]"But Evvie...I am.  They won't stop hunting us.  What did we even do to deserve it?  We didn't hurt anyone or anything.  They'll keep chasing us, I know they will...and."[/i][/color]

[i][color=ed1c24]"Jessica."[/color][/i]  Ev spoke a tad stern yet sincere.  [i][color=ed1c24]"It's going to be okay.  I promise."[/color][/i]

[color=f49ac2][i]"But I..I..I don't want to lose you!"[/i][/color]  The girl was on the verge of tears.  Evelyn held her close in her arms, Jessica resting her head against her lover's shoulder while Evelyn petted her hair.  That always calmed her down.
