Word of the fire spread across the city in a manner not unlike that of the flames that had threatened to engulf the school. An investigation turned up several leads but all fizzled out quickly until the report came of two missing students, Elroy Bain and Louis Pine. Evidence seemed to pile up quickly connecting the two boys to other suspicious fires. The park that had been torched was previously a favourite lover's rendez-vous for the two boys and the mall one of their most frequented destinations. Several witnesses even had placed both boys on the scene or leaving and entering around the estimated times of the fire. This chain of questioning quickly led to Aiden McKenna being let off the hook as he was discharged from the hospital after the medical professionals failed to find anything wrong with him. Any proof or medical records of Aiden being a Hyperhuman had disappeared much to his parent's relief. But then things changed when Louis turned up. Stumbling out of the woods near the school, the boy's clothes were ripped and torn. Dehydrated and disorientated, he was babbling before collapsing to the ground as several individuals rushed to help him. Jonas was among the individuals who helped take Lou to the hospital. Once he regained his senses, Lou admitted to everything, he claimed he had abducted Elroy and coerced the other teen into committing arson with him, although he only took ownership for the school. Lou boasted that he left Elroy out in the woods to rot. Taken into custody by the police, the local force organized search groups to find Elroy, taking volunteers from among the community.

[SUP][SUB]
S E B A S T I A N S C O T T:
[/SUB][/SUP]

[sup]8:05 AM, Monday, September 19[sup]th[/sup] | Caspian's Diner[/sup]

The smell of eggs and bacon grease greeted Sebastian like a warm hug as he walked into his favourite diner. The past two weeks had been rather odd, between getting to known Winter and Mr. Lehrer's weird 'One Word' lessons, this semester was definitely shaping up to be one to remember. The city was still shook up from the fire at the school with donation jars posted by nearly every shop's door in the Crestwood downtown. Which of course made easy targets for the young thief, Sebastian thought as a slight smirk crossed his face as he walked over to Caspian's counter, grabbing a stool and hoping up. Notably, the Caspian tip jar was rather full thanks to Sebastian leaving it alone and adding some tips from the other jars to it. "Sebastian! Favourite customer." Came the voice of a burly man with a Northern European accent. "Can I get you usual?" "You know it!" Sebastian answered with a smirk before catching a whiff of something nearby. Watching as a waitress brought out a meal to another customer, Sebastian felt his mouth water as an unfamiliar hunger twinged in his stomach. "Steak and eggs, rare and bloody." The waitress cooed as she sat the meal down in front of the other man before Sebastian turned and yelled to Dimitri in the kitchen. "On second thought, I'm in the mood for something different. Steak, rare and bloody with a side of those delicious hashbrowns of yours. Bacon, ham and sausages as well please." Sebastian yelled as Dimitri's jaw dropped. "Someone developed appetite for meat." He chuckled as the sear of the meat hitting the hot grill echoed through the room. "I've got a fire burning in ma belly, what can I say." Sebastian called back as he waited for his meal.

[SUP][SUB]
J O N A S L E H R E R:
[/SUB][/SUP]

[sup]1:50 PM, Monday, September 19[sup]th[/sup] | Two Weeks After the Dance[/sup]

The familiar scrawl of chalk echoed through the classroom as Jonas wrote a single word on the board before turning to the Social Conscience class. 'Missing' It hadn't taken much for Jonas to determine that the memories of the class and the rest of the school were missing from the night of the dance. No one had mentioned werewolves or a man in a cloak shouting in Gaelic before attempting to burn them all alive. Inwardly cursing himself, Jonas hated the fact that Louis had been manipulated into taking the fall by the Draoi. Louis wasn't perfect, far from it being a werewolf, something that had Jonas been trained in a different century, he would have killed on sight. But as the world too began to value all life, so did the Venari. There was one mystery however that Jonas had yet to solve as he looked towards Winter. Why did the girl seem to retain her memories? The Draoi's spell was cast within range but Winter was immune for reasons unknown to Jonas. While he knew she, like the rest of the class was a Hyperhuman, her abilities thus far had evaded his mystically enhanced vision. "So what does the word missing mean to you?" Jonas asked as he addressed the class. "I know many of you are tempted to say Elroy. But let's cut a little deeper, in your daily life what feels like it's missing? Society tells us we need a full education, a career, a beautiful wife with a big ol'..." Jonas paused a snicker came from the class. "Diamond ring." He said with a knowing smirk. "But many of us don't achieve these goals, our lives feel incomplete, like something is missing because society tells us we should have them. I know many of you probably aren't even thinking about these things yet. You're thinking about how late you can push it before you write that essay, how little sleep you can get after an all-nighter before work. But still there must be something about your lives that feels like it's missing. So I open the floor to you, what does missing mean to you?"

[SUP][SUB]
S E B A S T I A N S C O T T:
[/SUB][/SUP]

[sup]2:05 PM, Monday, Social Conscience Class | Mather Memorial High School[/sup]

Sebastian had always felt as though Jonas' lessons over the last couple of weeks had a hidden message to them. Winter's reactions had only fueled that suspicion. It was rather odd, the two of them seemed to almost share knowing glimpses every so often and Sebastian had to admit, it made him feel jealous. What on earth could Winter and Jonas be sharing, Winter had made it plainly clear that she wasn't interested in Jonas, or was that some sort of 'thou protest too much' play. Swinging his feet over his desk, his stomach growled again as his nose twitched, catching a whiff of cafeteria. Or at least so he thought, they were in the highest and dustiest point of the school, the cafeteria was a good distance away. Dismissing the thought, Sebastian figured someone must have microwaved a meal and walked by with it, though he hadn't seen anyone go by the door. "What's missing is the point of this class." He said with a smirk turning to Rita who was naturally sitting nearby.
