The only reason I can see them not being magical is because they have no MP cost in FF:TA. 

Of course. Marche is only going to have the Judge Sword in his EX-MODE to go along with a physical form that fits the weapon more; The power and sword don't exist outside the bursts of strength. Once he reverts he's just back to plain old Marche; Not that he isn't capable at that stage. Maybe he ends up really drained after reverting, though. Maybe it's slowly eating away at him as the roleplay progresses? 

Now I sense the need for some Marche/Cecil interaction. Sadly Cecil isn't a paladin yet, or else that'd be a great start to Marche getting his paladin abilities.
