Decided to post mine, nothing impressive, but it works. Lightsaber: Ansgar's personal saber is something of a point of pride for the Lorrdian Dark Jedi, ironic considering the fact that its most defining feature is its completely concealed nature. Taking the form of a sabercane, the majority of the "saber" in its inactive form is in fact a complete ruse. The emitter has an outer casing, threaded, to screw into the cane. With the right point of pressure, via the force or a hidden catch, it detaches the curved hilt of the cane, which is the lightsaber proper, allowing him to hook the length of wood onto his belt like a sheath. The lightsaber itself is of a curved design, a trademark of the practitioners of Makashi, and sized to fit just perfectly into the hand of Ansgar. Meaning not only was its balance, and construction, fine tuned over the years, but it is tuned to the point of being uncomfortable for others to use, as well as not being capable of two handing the saber hilt if needed. The saber has an azure hue, utilizing a specially prepared Krayt Dragon Pearl that he claimed during his time on Tatooine while still a member of the Jedi Order, something that he is very wise in not advertising to those who might try to kill him for the chance at getting their hands on a Krayt Dragon Pearl. Additional design features added over the years included a variable blade length adjustment, a specially designed switch for rapid cycling of the blade's power, to abruptly alter situations where blades are locked, and is otherwise designed for anominity, meshing with the false cane to prevent detection. Even before his flight from the Jedi Order, it would mirror his approach to any situation, unseen, unassuming until the vital stroke was needed. Abilities: Lightsaber Mastery: 8 Healing/Torture: 0 Force Mastery: 4 Lightsaber Form: Makashi Other Skills: +Piloting +Slicing +Stealth +Tracking Personality: Ansgar has always been the most pragmatic of souls, differing from his fellow Padawan, when in training, and well into his Knighthood as a Sentinel of the Order. He would often solve problems with methodology and tactics outside the thinking of the time, such as being a rare case of a Jedi carrying a hold out blaster, and being generally willing to utilize any and all tools at hand to accomplish his goals. Even after his fall, as the Order would call it, Ansgar had no love for Sith, less so for the Jedi, finding both orders and groups distasteful at best, and blind and an active detriment at worse. He would only serve in capacities that advanced his own goals of self empowerment, seeking to attain a singular mastery of the art of combat, something that, while once haunted him, now drives him without mercy. He would find himself with dark side leanings due to his belief in those with the ability to lead, whether by raw strength or cunning, should look solely out for themselves. While not one to talk, his survivalist outlook, coupled with his pragmatism, makes for an odd sort of person. He has no qualms turning tail and running should trouble arise, striking innocent targets, doing anything necessary to make ends meet and see himself better for it. Even if it means trampling others, after all, one must look out for oneself, first and foremost. Helping others, as far as he is concerned, is a nice ideology, but ideology and hope falls hard in the face of reality. And, as far as the dark jedi is concerned, reality is a harsh place where if someone doesn't watch for themselves first, they are going to fall and fail. No amount of help can save them from themselves, which means, obviously, they have to save themselves first, before they can save others. And, according to him, no one is ever safe. So, no one can safe anyone reliably, at best, and it makes focusing on his own wellbeing and benefit far easier in return. History: Ansgar is not one for talking of his past, and one might think a Dark Jedi, on the run from the Order and certain members of the Sith even, must have dark secrets and turbuleant past to warrant such a rocky, unstable life. However, for all intents and purposes, Ansgar has led a completely normal life for the most part, with little notable or, even, remarkable events. Born to parents on Lorrd that, while not rich, hardly were in dire straits meant he rarely wanted for anything, barring crazy or outlandish things, and would have led a relatively normal life. However, discovery of his force sensativity would change things, being one of the few remarkable things to occur prior to his knighthood as a Jedi. Being discovered as such by a Jedi Guardian, it was only natural for him to be whisked away to the Jedi Temple for an upbringing and training as a proper Jedi, and user of the Force, instead of allowing him to grow naturally, unmolded, and this would prove to be a point of eventual strife between Ansgar and the Order, one of many indeed. During his upbringing as a youngling, Ansgar showed a rather focused interest in any art that bettered his own capabilities or made him more versitile, finding an obsession with the duelist orientated art of Makashi as soon as it was introduced, showing disinterest in other forms in favor of, in regards to his saber training, combat and self defense. Alongside a focus on self regarding Force powers, showing a natural affinity for anything that would increase his own abilities, meant he was far better suited to the life of a Sentinel, lacking the sheer focus of combat prowess of a Guardian but not holding the universal force power of a Counselor. Accordingly, he was assigned a Jedi Sentinel as his master once of age, learning at the feet of a man who valued the result over the means, something that would create quite the impression on the young Ansgar. Indeed, when the time for his final trial came, hunting down a Kraayt Dragon that had been exported from Tatooine to his homeworld by rich nobles, control lost, and it rampaged, maddened by captivity and foreign environment, it was not by saber or the force that the beast was subdued. Rather, a well placed blaster shot, coupled with sliced security systems, would slay the beast. Ignoble for the Kraayt Dragon, but its Pearl was claimed regardless by Ansgar, who would use it as the crystal for his lightsaber for, unknowingly at the time, as long as he lived. Ordained as Knight of the Jedi Order, and Sentinel by choice and skill set, Ansgar would part ways with his master, who would later be brought to justice after his fall to the dark side. Ansgar would be the executioner of his mission, hunting his former master and evading the man's traps and tricks, having seen them all during his apprenticeship. Still blinded by the ideology of the Jedi Order's professed goal, he would bring his former master back to see Jedi justice. Ansgar would never see the man again, and assumed him dead or, at least, so far lost that he might as well be. Having earned his place as Sentinel, he would roam the galaxy, growing slowly more bitter and realistic about the Jedi Order, their sworn enemies, and how the galaxy responded to the two. His fall was not something dramatic, but merely the progression of events. Each time a life could not be saved, each family ruined despite better efforts, was another step towards that slippery precipice. Indeed, the final step was not some grand leap, but a tired, final stumble into darkness. Ansgar was paired with a Jedi he had grown fond of, they had often agreed with many of his pragmatism for the greater good at the time, and they had been assigned to a peacekeeping effort in the Outer Rim, during another violent outburst between two groups that had no cause to cooperate. By this point, darkness creeped readily into Ansgar's heart, something apparent to the Order and his partner, two reasons he was not sent alone, the Order hoped an outwardly simple peacekeeping mission would do his heart some good. However, the group overtly supported by the Order were slavers, and Ansgar being a Lorrdian, with their unique experience with slavery, caused something to finally give. Disobeying orders of the Order, and slipping the careful gaze of his partner, he would slaughter every last one of the supported government officials he could find. When confronted, over the body of the head of state, by his partner, six fateful words sealed his fall into darkness. "I am done, with such hypocrisy." Ansgar did not strike against his partner, out of respect for their innocence in the matter, and escaped any attempts to arrest him. Having walked away from the Order, Ansgar focused on what he had learned during his time as a Jedi. Saving others was not something that could be accomplished by anyone except, in the end, by those who required rescue. Indeed, it was such, that he would focus on bettering and empowering himself. Whether it was forbidden knowledge, wealth, or secretive techniques, if they could make Ansgar more powerful, more capable, than he would seek them out, regardless the cost. Such an obsession would lead him into the service and employ of many, from criminals and scoundrels, to those who meant well and honest to good officials. Anyone who could offer him valid improvement, he would serve. The Sith employed him more often than not, although he was quick to debase any rumours of being one of the Sith. He hated them almost as much as the Jedi, but their credits and knowledge were as potent and empowering as anyone else, so as long as one could validate why he should serve, Ansgar would. Loyalty was to himself, and himself alone, willing to turn coat with valid reason, something that made him closely watched. Doubly so, as he was an expert at infiltration and ferreting out information he should not know.
