'They must really think I'm stupid or something' Seishu muses, watching the obvious lies bounce around the room. 'Yeah, they bringing those two for treatment, while they are in lab coats and standing guard this side of the door, while their fellows sit there and pump that sickeningly light and fluffy stuff all over the place through the door. Yup, totally believable Wooly' His eyes narrow as he feels flickers of fear coming from the young female changing out his blood. 'Oh crap, that stuff would be rather toxic, now wouldn't it Little Miss? Well, we can't have that' The negative energy coming from all present has Seishu feeling rather good, and even as he can feel the pain med's hold on him fading, he feels control of his emotions firmly in place. Tourmali glances at Iro when Seishu doesn't seem to respond. His worried energies flicker about here and there, mixing with the other emotions floating around the room making a kind of dark slurry. The guardian draws it all in quickly, knowing that even if things work out this will most likely be the last good meal he'll have for a while. Iro motions towards his arm and says will all the confidence he can muster, “Now, c'mon. I know you're not afraid of needles.” Seishu's gaze shifts slowly back over to him and the doctor swallows hard. High above Rue shift slightly, his heart racing in his ears. Even he can tell now that the doctor is acting beyond weird. 'Why won't Mister Seishu let me help? At the least I could act as a distraction. I'm sure Lord Enasi will be checking on him after the party. He's nice like that. Why w-' his thoughts trail off as he notices something different about the Nightmare Guardian. He squints down, seeing Seishu's finger taping in perfect time against the sheet. 'It's like he counting down to something. But what?' Seishu can't hold back a smile as a very familiar positive presence seems to flare harshly against his wounds as it moves closer to his room. 'About time' He begins counting out the seconds, waiting until he's sure everything will work out. 'Not the best plan in the world, but it should keep me breathing and not have Enasi banishing me to the dungeons for killing his precious followers' Slowly he turns his arm over, giving the sheep man access to a good vein, then he turns his smile on the girl un-clipping his spent bag. She freezes and swallows, wide eyed and openly frightened. Rolling his shoulders, he waits until the syringe is close enough to his skin to act. Iro's heart is racing, he's sure that his plan has worked, and this time tomorrow he will be resting easy with the knowledge that the bane of his realm lay dead somewhere out of sight. He has an almost greedy look in his eyes as he leans in, but in an instant his plan is shattered. Like twin blades dark energy visibly lashes out from the nightmare and the syringe snaps in half, spilling it's contents all over the bed. On the other side of the bed yelps as the bag in her hand is slices open, splattering it's contents all over her front. Seishu quickly pulls his energy back, and in the stunned silence before the soldiers at the door can respond he murmurs with a wicked grin, “Rue, scream.” The room is quiet for a heart beat, confused looks mirrored around the room by the would be murderers, then suddenly from high above an ear splitting screech rings out. Hands involuntarily snap over ears and Iro looks to the guardian in horror, but Seishu simply smiles back and mouths the words “Daddy's coming.” ~~~~*~~~~ Down the hall Crios flinches and stops cold for an instant at the sound of coming from around the corner. “What in the world?” he whispers, then darts around the corner. Down the hall he spots a group of people standing around the door to the Nightmare Guardian's room, most bent double with their hands over their ears. 'So many? How, why, what's happening!?' A fire lights around his tail and legs and without hesitation he rushes towards the group. ____*____ Kaila wakes suddenly, his senses casting about for the source of what had disturbed his sleep. From somewhere above past his feet a voice speaks softly. “Kaila, sir, we require you're presence.” The minion holds back a groan and he pushes himself up slowly. The damp, slightly spongy feeling grass he had been resting on springs slowly back up as he comes smoothly to his feet. Smells of dying campfires and burnt meat replaces the soft marshy scent of the foliage as he follows the large bat to where a small group of nightmares and minions stand assembled in a circle. Shaking of the last bits of greenery from his clothes Kaila approaches the circle. It parts as he comes close and he feels his stomach drop at the sight of what's inside. On his knees with a blood chain coming from his neck, held by one of the minions, is a very familiar face. It smiles up at him, calm and almost amused. Kaila's gaze shifts from the captive to the one holding the chain as he explains what happened. “We were out, hunting for tomorrows first meal, when we found this one harassing a nightmare. We listened for a bit, and he made it quite obvious that he's with the traitor.” Kaila's gaze hardens. “He killed it?” he inquires, his voice void and empty. “Yes sir. It couldn't tell him anything, It wasn't even with us, the little thing was outside of it all thus far.” The minion yanks the chain, causing the one at the other end of it to fall forward a bit with a sharp cry. Blood begins trickling out of the slit where the chain comes out of the captive's neck. Kaila can feel the hairs on the back of his neck prickle as he tried to decide what to do with him. With a choked laugh, violet eyes comes up to meet gold as the bound male gives Kaila a friendly smile. “Now now, this isn't necessary. You must realize how foolish it is to fight this. I just want you to be safe Kai, that's why I came.” Kaila shakes his head, glaring back at him. With a growl Kaila begins pacing back and forth. Signaling for his men to keep the captive silent his mind scatters. 'It would be so easy to just order him killed. I mean, it's not like he doesn't deserve it. He killed! He murdered an innocent nightmare, and such things are punishable by death. But things are so messed up right now. . .' Glancing over at the captive again, he lets out a long sigh. 'However distorted his reality is right now though, he really means it when he says he's just worried about me. Even though I've always been stronger, it's natural. Heh, I think he's more worried that I'm on the wrong side and if I keep resisting it will mean my head' With another growl he murmurs, “Master Seishu wouldn't want him killed, he hates when anyone has to die, but we don't have any other option, do we?” Suddenly a low voice rumbles out from the water, startling him out of his musings. “I can take him.” Kaila looks to the water as it shifts aside, tumbling off the giant amphibian's head. “I can keep him down here. He will not die, just sleep. His presence will feed me, but not harm him.” The minion's eyes widen and Kaila feels the urge to hug the large water monster. Instead he bows gratefully and motions the man brought forward. The man looks at him, the faintest hint of fear in his eyes before Kaila severs the blood chain and pushes the other back into the marsh waters. The man holds back a cry as a large mouth clamps around him and he's paralyzed. Myralyn slips slowly out of sight with his prize and the assembled nightmare and minions disperse swiftly until only Kaila remains. He stares at the spots for several minutes until at lest he lets out a sigh, which sounds half like a sob. “Sleep well Jentou, my brother.” he murmurs softly before turning his back on the murky waters and heading into the woods to weep.
