[@Burning Kitty] One major correction your post needs: Theran stabbed with the spear, he didn't throw it. So that whole bit about catching it midair? Not possible. Unless you want to suggest he forcibly ripped it from Theran's grip, but I don't think that one would fly either. Your android has super strength but so does Theran, so simply tearing a weapon out of his grasp probably isn't happening anytime soon. So yeah, Theran fully instigated combat by trying to manually run the android through with his spear. Simply "snatching the spear" just isn't possible I'm afraid.
