[@Joshua Tamashii] Yeah I looked at it before posting.  Yeah I understand why they kept urging him not to stare. A Carver is a person who turns into animals he makes pacts with.  Seeing someone with strange features wouldn't really be that surprising to him since he can go into strange forms.  If anything he'll want wings like them or some wings himself more now.
