Personally? Right now I have a few canons not going anywhere, yet as an experiment I wanted to throw out MiniRPs that would end after a month or so. Problem is, if it's decent, it takes more than a month... or I come up with something for the next month and end up losing the bulk of my interest. So there's two things; I want to advance two universes that have long gone with barely any attention, yet I feel like an asshole if I drop the next MiniRP. It's not an all-bad concept, I just don't have the heart for it right now; yet dumping and going somewhere else every interest check is exactly what I hold against some nameless people here. Basically, if I try to push either canon, I'm going to go down hypocrite path.
This is one of the reasons why I not only take a while to check if people are committed role-players before accepting them into the IC, but I also won't present an interest check for a role-play until I've had it going on in my mind long enough to confirm it's not just a phase or something I'll lose interest in quickly -- doing this prevents me abandoning a project shortly after starting it, since I personally hate doing that as well. While my main story project is the only setting that 100% never loses my interest, I still find it important to confirm dedication before beginning a role-play, since there's no point starting what you don't plan to finish.
