When you were captured, how do you look and what clothes do you have on now?
This is what I normally wear, along with a sleeveless white tunic under a short Jedi robe. The sleeves of the robe don’t reach past my elbows. The hem of the tunic goes down to my hip, while the bottom of the robe barely reaches my knees. Clothing aside, my physical appearance is rather childish despite my age. My skin is completely smooth, a shade of lavender (or light purple) with darker spot-like birthmarks on my sides and Lekku, though you wouldn’t notice the spots unless you were looking for them. I’m relatively small, 5’4” (~1.6 meters), and weighing roughly only 105 lbs (~50 kg). I have narrow shoulders and a lithe, flexible but sturdy frame. I am also rather lean, most of my body fat being stored in my Lekku. I have a round, “soft” looking face, with clear skin and muted structural features. One can barely see my cheekbones and my chin is small and rounded. I have wide, expressive eyes that are a dark honey-brown in color, and full, naturally upturned lips. My eyebrows are tattooed-on, to help me look less “alien” to baseline-humans and also to help make my facial expression easier for others to read.
You got captured. Did you make any mistakes that led to this, or were others at fault?
I was not at fault for getting captured, only because it is not my fault many of the events that led to my capture happened. They were outside of my control. The only thing I could hold myself accountable for, is not being strong enough to fight off the Sith that captured me. If it's anyone's fault, it's the Sith's for attacking the temple in such an underhanded, cowardly way.
The Force is your ally. How do you use it?
I have a wide range of skills and abilities in the force, most of which I pursued learning because of my own interests rather than the difficulty of doing so or the basicness of the skill. My skills with the force are as follows: (In no particular order) Telekinesis Mind Tricks Force Jump Force Healing Force Stun Ionize Breath Control Tapas Pyrokinesis Psychometry Force Stealth
Having the Force did not keep you safe. What other skills can help you escape?
Umm… I’m pretty good at Slicing droids and other computer systems, and for a long time before I became a Jedi I was a pickpocket and a thief, meaning I’ve got a light touch and a tendency to subtly try to do things when I can. I’m very flexible, both literally and figuratively- I’m good at thinking quickly and coming up with stuff on the fly, as well as rolling with the punches as scenes pan out, and as a Twi’Lek I’m naturally just a bit more supple than some other species. I specialize in the Ataru form of Lightsaber combat, but I’m light and quick in a fight even without a lightsaber or the force with me. I’ve never trained in any formal type of hand-to-hand combat, but over the years I’ve developed my own style that incorporates many of the ‘tricks’ of fighting that I learned in my years before joining the Order. I’m strong-willed and stubborn when I want to be, I won’t give up easily, and when I’m confronted with adversity my automatic response is now (thanks to my Jedi teachings) to remain calm and collected while everything else tends to fall apart. This doesn’t exactly count unless someone among the prisoners can understand it, but I can communicate silently and secretly with my Lekku. And finally, I’m a lot smarter than I may seem, especially to anyone who doesn’t know my history even within the Order- I learn quickly, and am good at observing a situation.
What was your life like before you got captured? Which major events shaped your life?
Do I have to fill this part out? I really don’t want to… Alright, fine. Before I joined the Order, I was not in the best of situations. My memories of the time from my birth to a time when I might have been 7 or 8 years old are nearly completely missing, I only know what little I do because of stories told to me by others. At some point I'd been taken by slavers but somehow wasn't a slave now, another Twi’Lek, someone I considered a friend, told me that we'd escaped together with a handful of others. No one knew how or why I couldn't remember anything, but we didn't dwell on it much. It's not like our pasts meant anything much then anyways. We stuck together, this small group being the only ones I could trust as we went through our daily lives. We worked together to try and survive on whatever planet we were on at the time, I still don't know its name. I took to learning how to slice tech and stealing whatever we'd need from whoever seemed like they had enough to share. I got pretty good at it too, even being able to slice the police droids that would come after us. We survived, but we had no goals or ambition past that. Life was a day to day thing that became monotonous, not worth living. I couldn't just give up though, I was too scared to die, too scared of the unknown that is, or I should say, was death. I'm not scared of death anymore, because now if I die, it's for a cause at least. Sorry, rambling. Um, I guess I was 13 or so when a Jedi found me and took me to the temple on Coruscant... I learned quickly and actually found I liked learning about how to be a Jedi. It only took a year for me to master the basics and become a padawan to Master Jaa Iblik. He was nice enough, though I'm not sure we got along as well as we could have… he was a good teacher at least. After a year with him, he got a second padawan, a human named Cerria Kinal. Cerria and I worked well together despite our nearly opposite personalities and skills, we were teammates and friends. After three years as a padawan, I passed the Knight trials and became a Jedi Knight. It's been two years since then, and here we are! In the two years since I became a knight I've been sent on mostly investigative missions, with a few sending me to the battlefields of the war. I'm not sure I should tell you anything else about them, and I don't want to anyway. If it matters the Sith can find it out on their own, no way am I telling them anything.
How do you keep yourself calm in captivity? How do you keep your will to escape strong?
I try to meditate and center myself whenever I start losing my calm, or I'll distract myself by thinking about how to escape. It's not hard to keep my motivation to escape, whenever I feel like it might not be possible, I just think about all the other Jedi here with me. I'm going to get us out of here, somehow. I'd rather we all die than turn to the dark side or remain as prisoners or test subjects for the Sith.
How well do you hold up under pressure? Do you have a high pain threshold?
To answer the first question, I'm extremely good at keeping calm in bad situations, and I have enough confidence in myself and those around me that I don't believe we'll fall easily. I'm a fighter. as for the second… I'll say yes, for everything other than my Lekku. The brain-tails of my race are quite sensitive, the only good thing I can say for this is that I'll most likely pass out before I could or would say anything.
Lightsabers. Though you lost yours, it would be good to know what style(s) you use.
I know the basics of Shii-cho like every other Jedi should, but I'm most practiced in the form Ataru. I have recently started trying to learn Soresu as well so I could better deflect blaster bolts and conserve more of my energy in battle. I am Left-hand dominant, though I can hold my lightsaber in either hand and fight just fine. I don’t like holding the blade with both hands at once.
Have you encountered other prisoners or Sith in the past?
(WIP, kinda. I think this is all for now.) Cerria Kinall - She and I shared a Master, her being Master Iblik’s Padawan along with me for two years before I passed the knight trials about 2 years ago. We have crossed paths a few times since then, and I believe that because our master died during the sacking it's up to me to take care of her and to get her out of the Sith's reach. Nazca Barsavi - She's a youngling, almost a padawan I think though. We are... very alike from what I can tell, which could be both good and bad. I consider us to be good friends. Sela Kythor - The reason I was on Coruscant when the Sacking happened... I was working with her for a while to help with a case. Xid Terrik - Sela’s padawan and an awesome person. He’s a little quirky, but I like his unique mindset. Also.. he’s cute. Talon Soule - A friend of Cerria’s, I only recently met her. The fox is, interesting.
Out of Character

How powerful is she in the Force?
She’s a Knight, so she’s well-grounded with most of her skills in the Force, but a Jedi never stops learning, so some of her skills are less developed than others. In order of strength: (weakest at the bottom) Force Jump - (Advanced) Because of her use of the Ataru form of lightsaber combat, this is an essential skill for her. Mind Trick - (Advanced) She mostly does Suggestion/Persuasion and can defend herself from all types of mind tricks, to a point. Telekinesis - (Intermediate) A basic skill, She has good control and accuracy but not much strength with it. She can lift the huge boulders if you give her time but that’s about it. Ionize - (Intermediate) If she can't disable a machine by slicing it she could just destroy it instead by overloading its circuitry. She’s only able to use it at a short range (about 3-5 feet) or when touching the object, and she can’t use it a lot in quick succession. Breath Control - (Intermediate) She can hold her breath for up to 2 hours at a time while she’s active, and for 6 hours if she does nothing (like if she’s meditating). Pyrokinesis - (Intermediate) Outside of battle, she can control existing flame with ease, and she can create a small flame relatively quickly with any flammable materials nearby, and in about 10-15 seconds otherwise. Tapas - (High Novice) It's literally just staying warm by using the force. She can keep this up for a few hours at a time before needing some rest. Force Healing - (Novice) She can only use it on herself, and to a pretty low level. She can stop herself from bleeding to death, at least I hope so anyway. She needs to meditate to use this power at all. Force Stun - (Novice) She can effectively stun a single unprepared target for about a minute. Force Stealth - (Low Novice) There seems to be multiple versions of this one so, I'm referring to the ability to cloak your force sensitivity and light/dark affiliation from others. She may not be able to maintain it for very long, and after a while it may fail randomly, but she has practiced this at least a bit. Psychometry - (Innate) She can’t control this at all yet, it just kicks in at the GM’s discretion. She doesn’t even know she has this ability.
Has your character encountered members of the Strike Team / Rescuers before?
No.
Nobody with any sort of wisdom wants to speak of their flaws. Especially not to their enemies, so what are your character’s flaws?
The Lekku, or 'Brain Tails' are distinctive traits of the Twi'lek species, they are exceptionally sensitive and so Shiri could be knocked out or killed without much trouble if someone were to target them- she has to take care to protect them in a fight. She's suffered brain damage before because of her lekku that also caused complete amnesia when she was younger. While she has a high pain tolerance and ability to stay quiet when she's being tortured, she knows the others might not and so feels that she has to protect everybody else however she can, usually by taking their place. She values her fellow Jedi and sees how each of them could be more useful than herself if someone had to be lost. Most of the time, you have to do things the right way to get the result you want or need, but when it comes to the Sith Shiri practically has a criminal mindset. All Sith deserve to die, and in some cases the ends do justify the means. At this point it's never occurred to her that Sith are capable of change, of righting their wrongs and starting anew. (While it is rare, it could happen that a Sith changes sides) In that case Shiri would remain skeptical of the Sith even if they are sincere in their change. Shiri has no respect for anyone who believes she should respect them simply because they feel they are entitled to it. She rebels against those who believe they are better than someone else, and is more than happy to challenge them for them to see just how much they aren't. She's stubborn, sarcastic, can be a bit of a smart-ass at times, and while she is good at hiding her emotions she does still feel them and can be rather fierce at times (For example, she's more than a little spiteful towards the Sith right now because of the Sacking of Coruscant, and while it may not be obvious it is definitely there).
As a non-human, list what traits your character has specifically because of their Species.
Twi'lek's have:

Lekku (or 'Brain Tails') - stores fat and acts as an erogenous zone, also contains part of the brain at the base. Extremely sensitive and a great vulnerability if targeted in battle. LEFT= tchun RIGHT= tchin
The ability to communicate silently and secretly with their lekku
Sharp claw-like nails
Multiple stomachs - allows Twi'leks to eat most foods
Under normal circumstances, they have a higher body temperature than other humanoid species.

Is your character any good at holding out against torture?
Yes, in fact. She’s reasonably good at keeping quiet under most circumstances.
What is your character’s personality like? What motivates her?
Kind and caring by nature, and fairly mischievous. When she's around people she likes she can be funny and lighthearted, but most of the time she tries to keep her thoughts and emotions to herself. If she appears mean or harsh, it's more than likely a farce. Shiri takes pride in being a Jedi and enjoys learning as much as she can to try and make the universe a better place. She's decided that she wants to battle the dark side by either being an investigator or a Jedi Shadow, and that choice has led to many of her other choices throughout the years. Her goal is to become the best Jedi she can possibly be and save as many people as she can.
Do you have any limits as to what is “ok” to happen to your character?
I just don’t want her to die, mentally, physically, or in spirit . If she dies she’s no fun to play anymore. That being said however.. I'm interested to see what kind of trouble she can get into. Give it your best shot.
Do you want your character to escape?
Yes, of course. But, she doesn’t have to, and will absolutely refuse to leave if given a chance to while others are unable to escape. She's determined to get everyone out.
how easily do you wish to be captured?
About as easily as it is to give a big dog who doesn't like water a bath. Possible to do without injury, but annoying as hell after a short while. :sun
What do you think your character is doing in a few IC months?
If she escapes, her ties to the light side will be set for life and she'll continue pursuing her goal to be a Jedi Shadow. If she dies trying, well I just hope she was able to get the others out with her sacrifice then. If she turns, she’ll be lost to the darkness forever. Unlike Zez, there’s not even a chance for her to go back to the light. She’ll keep trying to develop the skills that would have made her into a Jedi Shadow, but now she’ll be striving to use them against the Jedi rather than the Sith.
Does your character have any secrets useful for the GMs’ plots?
Maybe...
-EDIT- I totally forgot to put this with the CS at first. oops. Describe what you look like.
I can look however I wish, though because many can’t seem to comprehend my true form I am usually in some humanoid guise. There are no pictures or documentation of my true form, at least not that I know of, and the form I take isn't always exactly the same as the last one, so it can be hard to recognise me sometimes. I do try to keep my “normal” form a certain way, ever since I was young I saw how most others looked around me and took what features I liked most for myself. Of course those preferences change over time. Currently, I like to keep my skin pale and my eyes a single solid color- whatever color I feel like at the time. Hair isn’t a thing I care for, though some say that it’s easier to recognize me if I have a constant trait, so I have some mid-length brown hair that I focus on keeping as it is. As for clothing, I don’t find it absolutely necessary as I can hide and change my gender traits if needed, and certain clothing could hinder me if I need to skinshift quickly or into a less… humanoid form. I wear a loose black hooded-robe and a special belt that will hold my lightsaber no matter what form I take. If you must know what I am like in my true form… I am just barely 6 feet tall (1.8 m) and weigh roughly 165 lbs (75 kg). My natural eye color seems to be pale white, though it’s hard for even me to tell sometimes because the colors unconsciously shift based on my mood. I am humanoid, meaning I have two arms and two legs and a head, and my skin is pale grey and rough as if dried out and cracked.
A Sith knows the ways of the Force. How do you prefer to use it?
I prefer to do whatever I must, avoiding force if I can get what I want in another way. I excel at many aspects of the force but lack much skill in many of the darker techniques still. I did spend a majority of my life with the Jedi Order, and they dislike training their young in any of the skills Sith normally find useful. My skills include: Mind Trick Force Speed Telekinesis Force Jump Telepathy Breath Control Crucitorn Drain Knowledge Force Choke
All obstacles have to be removed or overcome, so what skills do you possess to aid you?
As a Shi’ido I have the ability to change my appearance at will, being able to mimic all sorts of creatures and even plants to blend in with the “normal”, and in addition my race has a natural telepathic ability, to help keep up the farce. With my ability to Skinshift I can learn to speak any language there is, even silent ones like the Twi’lek’s one based off of body movement. I am a keen observer and can easily pick up on things like body language, physical attributes, and tone of voice. Physically, I make up for my lack of raw strength by having a tendency to be unpredictable in a fight, and I favor the Shii-cho form of lightsaber combat. I’m able to control my emotions, which to a Sith may seem counter-intuitive, but there is strength in knowing how and when it is appropriate to let things like emotions go, and when to use them to give you the edge you need. In terms of general skills.. I’m fairly good with technology, good enough to have built my own lightsabers at least, and I’ve done maintenance on machines (like droids) for about as long as I can remember. I know both the Jedi and Sith philosophies by heart due to my time spent in both orders, and can mediate between the two in my own mind; I plan on using bits and pieces of each to my advantage in conversation with the Jedi prisoners.
Everyone has a past. What brought you here and what challenges did you have to overcome to reach your current situation?
I don’t care to tell my past to anyone, but I’d rather not you snooped around trying to find out about me, so I’ll indulge you just this once. I do not know where I was born, or remember much of the events between then and my entrance into the Jedi Order as a Youngling Initiate four years later. I know my parents had been traveling the galaxy, for what reason I do not know, and I was found out to be force sensitive when we happened upon a Jedi knight and his Padawan in one of the spaceports of the planet Terminus in the Outer Rim Territories. I was taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant where I started learning the ways of the Jedi. I spent my time learning alongside the others my age, except I was not taught how to fight until I was a little older than 16. It had been decided that I shouldn’t learn or practice any combative skills before then because of my race’s slower rate of physical maturity. It would have been dangerous for me to learn at the same rate as the others. Instead they taught me how to wield a lightsaber in the basics of form Shii-cho, along with the other younglings for the next 12 years until I could better handle lightsaber training. While I wasn't able to learn to fight, I made up for my lack of progress there by spending more of my time learning other practical skills, along with Jedi philosophies and the use of the force. By the time I was 30 I was well-grounded in many of the skills I have now. Every skill except for Lightsaber combat, that is. Luckily by then I was capable of learning at the same rate as many of the older initiates entering the Temple. About 15 years later, I finally became a padawan to a Jedi Knight by the name of Bor’nah. He was an interesting sort of person in an interesting situation. He was younger than I by over a decade, and I was his first padawan. He and I were at the same level for most things other than combat and mission work, which he excelled at. We were more like partners than the expected Master/Padawan relationship. I dare say we were friends. Of course, friendships among Jedi never last long. A short 3 years later, we were on the battlefields of a new war between the Jedi and an enemy we thought had died out long ago, the Sith. Being, or at least considered to be, well old enough to handle the horrors of the front lines of war, My master and I were sent off to the fighting. What is the nicest way to put this? I was not ready for war. For all my knowledge, all my prowess in the force, all the fervency with which I memorized and studied the Jedi code and philosophy, I was still a child when it came to this. I saw other Padawans and even Knights cut down by the crimson blades, my own master among them. The Sith that killed him, I never learned his name, came after me next, and I was terrified. I can remember distinctly the absolute fear that had overtaken me just before the Sith’s approach stopped. He hadn’t stopped of his own will, no, I had grabbed him with the force and stilled his movement. I think we were both as surprised at this as the other. We stood and stared at eachother for a moment, the rest of the battle raging around us becoming no more than background noise, and then he spoke to me. I can’t remember exactly what he said, or what agreement we had come to, but eventually I released him, and turned on my comrades. The rest of the battle is a complete blur in my mind. After Bor’nah died, and the rest of the battle was over too, I left with the Sith I’d spoken to. I left my Jedi robe and Lightsaber by my old Master’s body in the hopes that maybe the Order would think me dead as well, perhaps vaporised in battle or shifted into an unrecognisable form and lost among the rest of the bodies. I was taken to the Sith Academy on Korriban, and forgot everything I once knew. I had made sure to appear the same as any Imperial human would before I arrived. If there was one thing I knew of the Sith from the few things the Jedi had thought to teach about them back before they knew the Empire even still existed, it was that they hated any species they considered ‘impure’ and that I would probably be killed immediately if anyone found out. As far as I knew, only the Sith from the battlefield knew what I was, and I heard a few months after I began my training as a Sith that he was killed in an attempt of his to kill his own master. My secret was safe. The sith were harsher on me than the other neophytes, I think only because I had once been a Jedi Padawan, but they would’ve been harsher if they knew anything about me more than that. They thought I was still just a child, though I wasn’t treated like one. My first few years there I think I sustained more injuries and threats than the rest of my life so far combined. I was never the one to instigate a fight, and I think that may have made me more of a target than I would have been if I’d just went and made a few enemies. Aside from the, different style of learning and the heavy encouragement to use my emotions to grasp the force, it seemed much the same as my time as a youngling in the Jedi Temple had been. I advanced to the rank of Acolyte quickly enough, having already known the esoteric skills they meant to teach the neophytes. Not too many years after that then I gained the rank of Apprentice Inquisitor. I continued to learn and study whatever I wanted, and as I grew more accustomed to life in the empire I began to experiment with my shifting abilities, to see just what I could do. Years came and went and my skills have only improved, and up until a few months ago I was able to keep a low profile. But, everyone makes mistakes at some point. I got caught Shapeshifting during an experiment of mine. I was trying to see how someone would react to romantic advances if they knew that how I looked was not who I actually was. They must have told an overseer about me, and I was taken in for ‘questioning’. I managed to get out relatively no worse for wear, but not without admitting to and showing my ability. I didn’t let them find out exactly what my species is, or show them my true form. Other than the face I had been using as my ‘normal’ one now being associated with the rumored shapeshifter I was in the clear. Or so I thought. Soon after the incident, one Lord Vivithe Lansha had heard about my ability and decided to take me on as her apprentice. She believes that my skill will prove to be useful to her. It’s been a few months since then, and I’ve realized now that this is the best development that could have happened to bring me closer to reaching my goal. I’ve found out that we’re to take part in what will be a historical event, the sacking of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. During and after which, I’ll have an opportunity to interact with both Sith and Jedi within a more or less closed and controlled setting. 3.3 actual years = 1 physical maturity year 1 actual year = 1 mental maturity year 76 years old (mentally) ~ 23 years mature (physically) 76 ~ 23 Present day A few months ago Became Lord Vivithe’s Apprentice 66 ~ 20 Gained the rank of Apprentice Inquisitor 50 ~ 15 Joined the Sith Empire 48 ~ 14.5 War starts 45 ~ 13.63 Finally became a Padawan 29.7 ~ 9 16.5 ~ 5 4 ~ 1.2 Found and brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant
We all learn about lightsaber combat, so what form(s) and skills in fighting have you found reasonable to learn? I am Right-hand dominant, and tend to hold my lightsaber in both hands or just my right hand.
How do you relate to the other characters and how do you see them?
(This is it for now.) Lady Vivithe Lansha - My master and the only Sith I even marginally trust. I am completely loyal to her, for now, though it would take a lot to change that. I have my own goals that she is helping me towards. She may still doubt me, but that doesn't matter. In the end I will have proven myself to her and achieve all that I desire.
Out of Character

How powerful is he in the Force?
He’s pretty good at every force skill he’s learned, due to it being easier for him to practice with the force than most other physically challenging things before the age of 30, and he kept up that focus on the force since then as well. Force Speed - (Master) He can use the Force to increase the speed of his movements during combat, and to slow down his perception of the world, giving him more time to react to a situation and allowing him to see in slow motion so he can dodge attacks easily and attack more quickly with greater accuracy. He can also use this to run on vertical surfaces, for a brief amount of time. In using this power he’s not as in control as he is with any of his other skills, and often feels that the Force is guiding his actions instead. Mind Trick - (Advanced) He can use voice manipulation to resolve many matters in a non-violent way and to persuade others to do something they wouldn’t normally. A basic skill to have, but something he has worked with a lot. He is very good at defending himself as well as breaking down the defences of others. Telekinesis - (Advanced) He has greater strength than control with this skill, able to overcome the Force Weight of other Force users and throw people and things around without much strain on himself. Force Jump - (Advanced) Another rather basic skill that he’s practiced diligently; he can easily jump more than twice his own height, and combined with his ability in Force Speed large gaps are child’s play to him. Breath Control - (Advanced) He can keep this up for 4 hours at a time when actively doing something, and for 12 hours if he’s completely inactive. This skill is very useful to him when underwater, in space, or when trying not breathe in a poisonous gas or other airborne pathogen. Force Choke - (Intermediate) Is any explanation other than his skill level really necessary here? He can choke people: classic sithy bad guy skill. Telepathy - (Intermediate/Innate) His species’ natural telepathy only deals with giving others the impression that he is who or what he looks like, useful for blending in with packs of beast that use smell or any way other than looks to identify other members of their species. He has practiced to allow him to also communicate with people, though he must be within a certain distance for it to work (about ½ a kilometer). Crucitorn - (Intermediate) He can amplify his own senses or other’s. He needs to concentrate to use this, more than with any of his other abilities.
Has your character encountered members of the other factions before?
Perhaps, however it's very unlikely that they knew at the time. Before Zez joined the Sith of course he knew many Jedi, but considering how long ago that was I doubt those Jedi would remember him at all (if any are even still alive).
What is your character’s personality like? What motivates him?
He often appears withdrawn from a situation, tending to be a silent observer when he does not need to act. He chooses his words carefully, and finds pleasure in pushing people’s buttons. He can be quite a flirt, though he doesn't have any interest in any kind of relationship or even a one-night thing. He doesn’t consider anyone his friend, or himself as friendly, though he makes an effort not to be seen as an enemy by anyone and not to gain too many enemies himself. Socially, he’s noticeably in-control of himself and well-grounded, whereas in a fight he can be the exact opposite: unpredictable and flighty. He’s smart and knowledgeable, and people can get that impression from him, but he prefers to act in a way that would counter that, perpetually asking simple questions in order to get more information. If someone thinks you already know something, why would they tell you more? He has no qualms against using violence or threats to get what he wants, but would rather keep it as a last resort if there’s an easier or more interesting way to go about things. He is just like many other members of his species, all he truly wants is to observe and learn.
Nobody with any sort of wisdom wants to speak of their flaws. Especially not to their enemies, so what are your character’s flaws?
He is impatient and over-active: he constantly has to be doing something, which often was a problem for him as a Jedi when he'd have to meditate, and is not much better now. He is inherently Dishonest and has a tendency to lie about things, keeping as many secrets about himself as he can. He'll never admit it, but he's envious of many other species for their greater acceptance across the galaxy, where he feels he's spent his whole life living behind a mask. He is completely fixated on his goals, and in the meantime takes joy in pressing others buttons; he finds people's reactions hilarious, especially if he flirts with them and they know he can shapeshift. What will cause your character to initiate interactions with the other Sith?
Other than business, if he is not training or otherwise occupied Zez may try to mess with the other Sith. He would not physically harm them or seek to anger them, but rather just observe how they act in certain situations with him, in whatever form he may take.
Do you have any limits as to what is “ok” to happen to your character?
Not really, Zez is here to learn and observe and get into whatever trouble or good graces he can.
How would your character go about trying to turn Jedi?
A multi-tier plan, done on repeat: Speak with the Jedi, telling them his story and why he himself abandoned the Jedi way so long ago. See if they will listen to logic and reason, or if spiking their emotion would be the best way to go. See if they'll slip up and tell him something useful. The end of this first tier is also the end of their first session with him, he has not harmed them, yet. Second, confuse them in any way possible, usually by using any information he got from them to disguise himself as someone they might trust and having that someone threaten them or treat them in some way that would cause the most shock to the Jedi. The goal of this is to try and get an emotional or violent reaction from those who did not respond to logic in the First tier, and to create stress and a lack of trust between the Jedi and the other prisoners. This could also be skewed to try and cause the Jedi to trust him. The third tier may be skipped if it will only serve to undo any progress made in the first two, however if a lack of progress is shown, most prisoners are sure to respond to torture. Physical or psychological, or both at once, something is bound to change the Jedi's views.
The Jedi can take prisoners too. Is your character eligible for captivity?
Yep. I'd love to find out how Zez would get captured, though considering he's already turned his back on the light once, I doubt it'll be easy or even possible to turn him back.
What ideas would you like to try or accomplish with your PC in the IC?
A stealthy Sith that isn't motivated by the want for more power or a higher title; just as his race travels the galaxy and studies all forms of Life, Zez is here to study the Sith as one of their own, to learn as much as possible. If he becomes powerful or well known in the process, that's a perk. His ultimate goal is a knowledge and understanding of the force that neither side could truly get on their own.
I have a triangular face with well-defined features. Full lips and almond-shaped eyes, high and narrow cheekbones with small ears and a cute nose. I'm somewhat proud of how I look, and I take care of myself to make sure I'm always presentable. My short hair is a natural fiery red, and contrasts my species' bright green eyes well. My skin is mostly smooth and slightly tanned, save for a few random scars gained over the years which resist taking on any color from the sunlight. I am 5'8" (~1.7 meters tall) and weigh about 120 lbs (~55 kg). I'm quite modest in how I dress, preferring to cover as much of my body as possible. Along with my normal outfit, I wear the traditional brown Jedi robe, and always carry my green-bladed lightsaber with me by tucking it into a hidden pocket in my belt. Name one weakness or flaw you have identified but not neutralized.
Well, I am dyslexic, so it’s hard for me to read something and get it right on the first try without focusing, and this also affects my ability to write. Though I suppose you're looking for me to say one of the things that I can yet change? In battle, I am not against harming my opponent when necessary but I prefer not to take any life, so sometimes I may not use as much force as is needed until I realize that I do need to try harder. I would also describe myself as soft-hearted, which would explain why I’m here as a rescuer rather than a member of the strike team. I cannot bring myself to leave someone who is suffering or in need of help, and I often don’t think past the present moment before attempting to help because, in my experience, if you wait it's too late.
Fighting Sith is not easy. How do you plan to use the Force for this?
I have many skills and abilities within the Force, here they are listed in no particular order: Telekinesis Serenity Trance Center of Being Alter Damage Mind Trick Force Sight Force Healing Force Empathy Detoxify Poison Comprehend Speech
Sure, you can use the Force… but what else can you do?
I know quite a few things about plants, how to tend to them and help them grow as well as useful ways to use them and which ones are ok to eat, I’ve even got a few good recipes for on-the-field; normal, I think one would imagine considering I am a plant. Aside from my green thumbs, I have a meticulous attention to detail and a rather good memory, if I do say so myself. I’m good at keeping an optimistic outlook on problems, and am easily able to keep calm and in-control when under pressure. I am ambidextrous, meaning that both of my hands can be used to wield a blade to equal ability in combat, and it’s rather handy for tasks needing precision and dexterity, though I’m not much of a tinkerer or anything of the like. I’m quite adaptable, and able to analyze a situation to quickly make decisions based on what I know in that moment. Socially, I’m good at avoiding confrontations and arguments, and I always make an effort to be kind to others. I do see the bad in the universe, I just hope the good can outweigh it.
Something got you to join this mission. What was it? What events shaped your life?
I can barely remember anything of my time before I was found by the Jedi Order as a 5-year-old. The earliest memory I have is of a game I played with the other younglings at the Praxeum on the planet Arkania. As a youngling I was a studious child, but not nearly as much as I should have been. My attentions always strayed off the current task, even when I tried to meditate and focus on the force. I an attempt to help me learn to focus, one of the teachers came up with a test to try and find out what the problem was. I have a natural ability to sense the emotions of those around me, even when they were hiding them on the surface. This empathy caused many distractions, and it got so hard to focus past it sometimes that I had to go somewhere I’d be completely alone so I could practice using the force at all. Yet once I was able to focus I found that certain aspects of the force came to me with ease, skills such as sensing my surroundings and using telekinesis. Focus continued to be my greatest challenge until I became a Knight, but until then I practiced as much as I could at tuning out my own emotions and the emotions of others. Eventually I got to the point where it was effortless to do, but admittedly it was slow going until I actually became a padawan. My master was a great help in learning this control. I was 13 when I passed the initiate trials, and when I first met Seri White, or Master Seri as I would call him. He was an old Knight who had trained two padawans before me, both of whom had passed the Knight’s trials on their first attempt. Seri was a good teacher, a highly skilled Jedi, and a kind, tolerant person. It never ceased to amaze me how he cared about all the people he came into contact with during missions. He made sure to protect even his enemy from the threat they posed, to others and to themselves. I like to think I learned this trait from him, though it was not one he made any effort to pass on to me. "Compassion is the belief that all life is precious and important. Just because your opponent may be an enemy for now, it doesn’t mean that they can’t change if given a chance." Seri was quick to notice where I struggled and what my strengths were. He saw potential in me that I myself was blind to. I’m glad to say that his guidance was what began pushing me to get where I am now, though that doesn’t mean I was a good student at all. I can remember many occasions where I must have been the most annoying padawan in the universe to him. He took my phases of questioning and impatience, rebellious behaviors and moodiness in stride, and with a sense of good humor about him as well. He was a concrete wall compared to my young self. Soft clay trying to mold itself rather than accept the guiding hand of the potter. As a youngling at the temple I trained in the basics of Shii-cho and Soresu. But my current form, Niman, is what Seri used, so that was all he was able to teach me as far as Lightsabers go. It was simple to learn, and I liked how the form was versatile enough to use the Force along with the blade-work. I also liked that it didn’t require any fancy footwork like Ataru or focus too much on the fighting aspect like Makashi. Seri taught me that a Lightsaber, just like the force, was a tool rather than a weapon. A means to protect oneself and the others they defend. By the time I turned 18, I believed I was ready to attempt the Knight trials, though Seri would constantly remind me to be patient and wait until he was sure I was ready. He would often tell me: “Not for another ten years if you can’t settle and wait! Focus, and trust in the force to guide you.” I can’t say I’ve gained any patience since then, but I did at least learn how to wait for things I wanted to happen. I finally got my chance to attempt the Knight Trials only a short time before the return of the Sith and the beginning of the war. I had only held the rank for a few weeks before it started, and I was almost immediately sent to the battlefront. It was horrible, I think especially so for me. I saw many of my comrades, people I considered friends even, fall in more ways than one. As the bodies of the dead would litter the ground, Jedi with weaker constitutions would suddenly give in to their emotions and join the Sith. So many emotions swirling around, loss, anger, fear, hatred... The Sith would speak to us, trying to convince us to turn on our allies, to use what we felt to become 'stronger'. I have no idea whether or not I also felt these emotions, or if I ever had the urge to give up and work with the Sith instead. The collective feeling around me was too strong to tell where my thoughts and emotions ended and where all theirs began. If I ever did, I didn't act on the thought at all. Seeing my comrades struck down around me, or changed into someone nearly unrecognizable strengthened my own constitution. I would not fall to the dark side just because the universe around us seemed to be spiraling into chaos. I would not allow myself to think that my path may not be right. Over the next years I got used to the wartime setting, but I didn't stop hoping for peace, or back down from the challenge of keeping myself together. I never stopped learning after becoming a Knight, as I always could find at least one thing to practice or fix. I learned to meditate and focus better, centering myself and pulling away from the chaos around me in battle to help isolate myself from the emotions of those around me, and calm my mind. I taught myself how to take care of myself and others in survival situations. I even tried to learn certain Force Skills in an attempt to neutralize a few of my physical faults, such as my species' natural blindness in the dark. By the time I turned 26 I was assigned my first Padawan, a human named Yao-wang. He was a mild-mannered sort on the outside, but I could tell that he had trouble keeping his emotions in check. I worked with him patiently, hoping to help him find his strengths and gain control over his inner turbulence. He was a good student, though he got frustrated and gave up when things didn't come easily enough to him. Before Yao turned 14, we never went to the battlefields at all, and I think I may have lost some of my edge in the two years before we went on our first battle mission together. I noticed almost immediately that the way the enemy fought had changed over the last few years. I was nervous, and didn't feel like we were ready for this quite yet, but if you never try you can never know what you're capable of, right? We weren't on the front lines, rather far from it actually, but I worried all the same that something might happen. Imperial troopers have more strength than just numbers, after all. At one point during the battle, Yao and I were separated from each other by a group of troopers who surrounded us. I fought my way out easily, and I thought to let Yao get himself out of the situation on his own, as he could've used some practice making a decision and acting on it. I would only step in if he needed me to. He defeated almost half the troopers who had gone after him before I noticed, too late, what was about to happen. Another group of troopers had been standing a little ways away. At first I thought they were hanging back out of fear or caution, but then one of them hit a trigger that set off a bunch of firebombs around us. I was able to keep the flames from reaching me, but everything and everyone else seemed to become engulfed in flame. I saw the troopers that had activated the trap run off to avoid the flames themselves. The others, who had been fighting Yao, struggled to breathe as clouds of black smoke billowed off of their burning flesh. I tried to push the flames further away, to clear the space where I’d last seen Yao standing, but I couldn’t find him. I could hear the screams of people burning around me, friend and foe alike. I could feel their emotions, their collective fear and pain. I tried to find Yao through his emotions but when I reached out to him he was completely silent, as if calm for once. Later, after the flames died, I found his lightsaber on the ground next to what must’ve once been his body, now charred into ash. The battle was over by then, to this day I can’t remember -perhaps I never knew- who won. I understand his death was not all my fault, but when I could have saved him by simply making a different decision or just noticing the trap sooner, it’s kind of hard not to feel like it is. About a year later I was assigned my second Padawan, Lovino, whom I ended up treating like a baby bird. I never allowed her to be very far from me, at least not until I was confident she’d be ok on her own no matter what surprises might come up. She passed the knight trials after five years with me, and to this day she is a highly capable Jedi. At about the same time as I would get my next padawan, a fellow Zelosian named Kiku, the Council granted me the specialization of Jedi Sage. I accepted the title with reserved joy; it’s nice to have your skills be acknowledged. I took the same approach with Kiku as I had with Lovino, attempting not to be too overprotective. He passed the Knight Trials six years later, when I was about 40 years old. I have not been assigned another padawan since then. In fact, the most interesting thing to happen in my life these last 6 years, besides the many missions I go on, was when I earned the rank of Master about two years ago. My skill and power in the force, and the diligence I've shown in keeping to the light side were what caught the Council's eye in the first place. This, along with how -even in this time of war- I've been able to keep a certain tenderness in my heart and show kindness even to my enemies, earned me the chance to attempt whatever trials the Council would have me face in order to become a Master. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say exactly what I faced, but I can tell you: I passed. Now, I go to Coruscant in the aftermath of the Sith's attack there. I'm not sure what I hope to find, but from what i've heard I know it won't be good.
How do you fight with lightsabers?
I am a master of the Niman form of Lightsaber combat, which suits me well as I prefer to use the force rather than my blade, and I enjoy the adaptability of the form from situation to situation. I am exceedingly good at making sure I don’t hurt my opponent any more than is necessary, while avoiding injury myself. I am ambidextrous, meaning I can hold my lightsaber in either hand or with both at once, it doesn’t matter.
How do you relate to the other characters?
I try to be friendly and cordial no matter who I'm speaking to, at least unless said person proves to be too difficult; I've proven to be much more passive than one would expect, even when antagonized. My cold side isn't as bad as you might think though, so long as I'm being sociable. My bite is certainly worse than my bark, as any Sith will soon find.
Out of Character

How powerful is she in the Force?
She is a Jedi Sage and a Master, so she’s pretty powerful. Telekinesis - (Master) She has extreme amounts of both strength and control with this skill, as she should as a Sage. Serenity Trance - (Master) A brief and specialized meditative state for use in battle. If she can do this for even just a few seconds mid-battle it will allow her to regain her focus and power. Center of Being - (Master) Another specialized form of meditation, and a stance used in lightsaber combat. When in such a state, she can almost unconsciously defend from even the most flowing random attacks and feints. Alter Damage - (Advanced) She doesn’t wish to harm her opponent any more than necessary, and this skill is perfect for that purpose. She’s able to prevent her strikes from doing barely any damage at all if she wants, and has a great amount of control over this ability to ensure that. Mind Trick - (Advanced) She is able to defend herself against most mind tricks, and able to trick most anybody if they’re not defending themselves as well. She’s never really tried to trick another force user before, as she’s had no reason to try it on Jedi, and with Sith she’s usually too busy fighting or throwing things around with telekinesis to try it. Force Empathy - (Advanced/Innate) She’s a natural empath, and picks up other’s emotions with little effort. Almost all her training with this has been in order to control what she senses, and to tune out the emotions that could cause her to loose her own calm or harm her. Comprehend Speech - (Advanced) She is easily able to grasp and comprehend the meaning of alien words when attempting to communicate with any being she would not normally be able to understand. Use of this skill takes minimal effort and it kicks in almost automatically on her part. Force Sight - (Intermediate) While most younglings are taught to sense what’s around them with the force, she studied this further as a way to compensate for her species’ blindness in the dark. She’s able to clearly make out everything within 15 meters of her without needing much focus, and up to 150 meters with concentration. Anything much farther away than that she needs to meditate in order to see. Force Healing - (Intermediate) She can heal herself or another, but it won’t do much. She can heal mild wounds and take the edge off of worse ones, but any severe wound would take a lot of focus to do anything to, and would most likely need many treatments to completely heal. She has trained with this skill enough to no longer need to meditate in order to use it, but it doesn’t hurt to do so anyway. Detoxify Poison - (Intermediate) She originally wanted to learn this skill in an attempt to see if she could neutralize the effect that sugar has on her, as other species have been able to do the same with alcohol. It does take the edge off, but she’s a lightweight when it comes to ‘drinking’. Other toxins are much easier for her to neutralize, and tend to clear her system in about half the time they normally would when she focuses.
Has your character encountered members of the other factions before?
More than likely, but exactly who is still up for grabs.
Your character can’t know her every weakness or flaw. Which ones were missing above?
Astera has a soft spot for all living things, and is perhaps too kind to realize when she needs to stand her ground against the ideas of her comrades, and when she needs to step up. While she’ll call out things that would lead to the dark side and stop herself from going that path, she’ll compromise in the cases of others because she wants them to make their own choice rather than have others feel forced to do anything by her. She prefers to avoid arguments, no matter if she’s right or not. She’ll follow any order she is given, but in a way that she feels is right with the force. As far as her physical flaws, she has Dyslexia: which means that while she is not illiterate sometimes she may as well be. It is a good thing that most of her missions don’t require her to read or write anything important. Also on the topic of sight, her race is completely blind in the darkness. Zelosians also have a strange reaction to sugar, where it has the same effect on them as alcohol does on other species.
As a non-human, list what traits your character has specifically because of their Species.
Zelosians:

Are blind in the dark
Have Chlorophyll sap instead of blood
Get drunk off of Sugar
All have Emerald green eyes
Nothing is mentioned on the wiki about them needing sunlight to survive, So I’m going to assume it doesn’t affect them that much unless they go without sunlight for weeks, maybe months, on end.
The Dark Side. How well does your character resist it?
Astera is extremely grounded in the light. As a Sage it's part of her job to resist the dark side with all her might, and she's very good at that.
What is your character’s personality like? What motivates her?
Her goal, and what she believes her purpose is in life, is to be the best Jedi she could possibly be, and therefore the best person she could be as well. In every action she takes she’s very reserved, only doing what she absolutely must to win a fight, while causing the least possible amount of harm to her opponent. She’s good at fighting, but that doesn’t mean she likes it at all. She’s kind, bubbly, and easy to get along with, but beneath her welcoming demeanor and ever-present smile lies a calculating intelligence, and the most caring of souls. She values honesty and integrity, and sticks to her morals like glue, appreciating those who also have these qualities, even if their opinions may differ from her own. She may not be the best at knowing what to say and when, but her overall earnestness and a lack of beating around the bush tend to make up for that. As a Jedi she’s used to hiding her emotions or pushing them to the side, but they still exist beneath her calm surface even though it might be hard to tell for sure, and some of her moods can seem to be contagious, or it may seem like she’s catching the moods of others; a sign of her empathetic nature. She has an optimistic outlook on life but doesn’t ignore the bad things in the universe, she simply hopes that the good will outweigh the bad in the end.
Do you have any limits as to what is “ok” to happen to your character?
No. Astera may be a pure light, but that doesn't mean she can't/won't get into any trouble.
Do the ends justify the means?
The ends will never justify the means to Astera. Do it the right way or you're just as bad as the Sith, and you deserve to fail if you can't do something in the light.
Captivity. Do you want her to potentially be captured?
It's not impossible. IC events would probably have to line up in a way where it'd somehow be useful to the ST/Rescuers for her to allow herself to get captured, or she couldn't avoid capture for some legitimate reason. Who knows, it might be fun to see how her role change from rescuer to the one needing rescue would play out.
What do you think your character is doing in a few IC months?
This question is a little confusing. If the Jedi loose, she likely won't be alive in a few months. She'd fight to the death, and if they won't allow her to die, she'll never turn to the dark side. If they win (and she's still alive) she's going to take on a new Padawan, as before the events of the RP she was simply doing missions and helping the Order in whatever way she could, alone. In rescuing the prisoners, she'll realize how out of touch she is with the younger and less experienced Jedi, and request to get a Padawan of her own so she can help them and help herself to understand what troubles the Padawans are having nowadays. For every prisoner that turns, she's going to want to understand why they did, and to stop that from happening by training as many as she can to help them stay in the light.
Does your character have any secrets useful for the GMs’ plots?
ummmm... Nope, there's nothing to see here.
