It's less a matter of having anything to hide so much as some things aren't the business of any fucking government. I've used the above for quite some time, I advise anyone that values their privacy over in the UK do the same or similar.
This. I've been looking more into it, and practically any company in the U.K will be able to access the data too. Imagine the level of abuse this will open every single person up to! Ever made an enemy? Ever wronged anyone? They'll be able to access everything one way or another. How long until undesirable elements of society use this to exploit the everlivig shit out of everyone? Maybe even offer it as a cash service? Ever wanted to run for office or government of any kind? Hopefully you've never put what society considers a negative viewpoint online. Hopefully you've never done anything slightly questionable. Hopefully you've never sent pictures of your special parts to anyone, because soon that'll be viewable by anyone with access to said systems as well. Fortunately the whole thing has to be debated by MPs now as the petition has reached enough signatures. Doubt it will change anything but at least it may set into motion some change to make it more of an exclusive system at the very least.
