Seth probably doesn't care about evidence and court proceedings as much as making sure the Pokemon don't get subjected to whatever it is, especially since he doesn't see the Club as a criminal thing at all (terrible organization for terrible people, sure, but not criminals). But, if that's your stance on the whole thing, nevermind then.
