[indent]Brooks stands at around 5’10 with a stocky figure and a rotund belly. His hair was once a darkish brown, but the roots are starting to shine silver with age. His face is lined and darkened with a faint stubble. From behind his dark, bushy brows Brooks’ blue eyes are usually squinted to accompany the habitual scowl on his face.


When he isn’t wearing his sheriff uniform, Brooks has a penchant for freshly ironed shirts and faded jeans, old leather jackets and sunglasses even when he doesn’t really need them.[/indent]

[indent]To the average guy, Brooks seems like a sarcastic asshole. He’s the type of man who’s seen enough to be unfazed by pretty much anything a backwoods town like Verona could throw at him, and as a result he’s clearly taking it easy. He’s a very direct with his words, to the point of being undiplomatic. 

You can tell he places a lot of importance on the wellbeing of family by the way he looks after his own; it’s one of the few occasions where one would be able to see that Brooks is a loving, caring individual. 

Brooks is very career-driven and puts a level of professionalism into his work, but has recently become a little more informal due to the lack of criminality in the town. He can be very defensive when it comes to threats against him or anyone he cares about. He’s quick to anger and difficult to impress. He has a strict sense of what’s right and wrong, but he’s very lenient when it comes to bending the rules to ensure that justice is carried out.[/indent]

[indent]Born into a catholic family consisting of a strict but loving mother and a tough, not-so-loving father, Brooks grew up in a world of “tough love”. Being lucky enough to have been raised in a lower middle-class baltimore family, Brooks’ life didn’t look all too bleak. However with the type of crowds he hung out, and the people he called friends, one could only become either a cop or a robber. Years passed and Brooks decided to pick up the shield, serving in the force for many more to come. 

Eventually, with the toll of age along with a significant personal reason, Brooks decided to get away from it all and move someplace more quiet and peaceful.
Even though Brooks wanted to escape the pressures of policing, he wasn’t prepared to retire completely. Moving to Verona would had given him the perfect opportunity for that; he was accepted into the required role of sheriff due to his experience. 

Brooks has been serving as Sheriff for the past 2 years, ensuring Verona remains peaceful and quiet. [/indent]
