Imo, in the real world magic is science that's beyond the scientific understanding of the person who believes that something is magic, but they're both vexing philosophical challenges based on axioms that some firmly believe and others don't. Dr. Strange used to be all about Science, but he started believing in magic when he was confronted with powers beyond his time, the stuff that Thor calls science in the movies. The point is that Cinematic Thor's technology and biology can more or less perfectly emulate the supernatural, but it doesn't take any visible toll on him.
