Where I was going with that was the whole chimera/mosaic thing - technically her body has two different genetic codes, expressed independently in individual cells - elements are heritable, so they're encoded genetically in some way or another, so it's possible that she has two different elemental powers each being expressed in half the cells in her body. Or something. Depending on what Tato and Salty say, could take that bit out.
