I'm aware that this [url=http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Mind%27s_Eye_of_the_Kagura]technique[/url] is something close to the sort of custom technique you were describing, so I was wondering if I could use this instead, but in it's earlier developments stages? For example, Kohaku can only sense chakra from within 100 metres, and vaguely sensing the fluctuations in someone's chakra when they're lying can be a sort of gut feeling that may not always be accurrange. Over time she can increase her range etc. as she gets stronger. Whatever's appropriate, of course.
