Roxy was never very good at paying attention to things. As she stood in the crowd of trainers, the voice of the Professor faded to the background as Roxy studied the people around her. They seemed to be around her age, and a good number of them had their own Pokemon with them. She couldn't help but feel giddy with warmth and excitement; she had actually made it. Sure, she was optimistic, but she hadn't expected to get this far. It had taken her several days to get from Rustboro City to Slateport-given that her parents had seemingly amassed a small army to find her-and jumped on the first ride to Chromis. Roxy felt a small nudge on her leg. She looked down at her parter, Lucina, who seemed quite anxious. "Don't worry, we'll be fine! This is going to be great for us. Adventure, new friends, new challenges...what could possibly go wrong?" Roxy whispered. Lucina didn't seem all that satisfied with this response; after all, she was supposed to keep her trainer out of trouble, and now they had run off into some unknown region without much foresight. The small Riolu crossed her arms, quietly studying the other trainers around them. Roxy suddenly realized that the people around her would probably end up being her rivals. But that was all part of the fun, right? Rocking on her heels, she finally returned her attention to the lady talking up front just as she was finishing her little speech. She had to register? That was going to take forever! "C'mon, Lucina. Let's get registered for everything!" Contests were pretty popular back in Hoenn, and she decided that she might end up giving them a try sometime down the road. So, she chose to register for those first. Lucina stayed close to her trainer's side as the two wandered up to the contest registration table. There was another person in front of them, with a cute little Pokemon that Roxy had never seen before. "Hey, I'm Roxy. You signing up for the contests too?"
