These sure do fit the motif. To be brutally honest, I was thinking about a far more standard, run-of-the-mill thing for Ikana, but that's not quite set in stone yet. If anything I might at least borrow some inspiration from their telepathic senses. Because that seems awesome. I love these kinds of traits that come a little double-edged.
