Sorry, my MOBA-self came in.

By line-area, I meant it [i]is[/i] thrown in a straight line, (say like a string tied between you and the target) but anything that's in that line where the object was thrown has a high chance of being hit.

Say if while you were throwing solar flares at the monster and a little old lady walked between you, there's a huge chance that she'd be hit.
